That's an incorrect statement. The first gen iPad certainly supports 802.11n running on the 5ghz spectrum. We have 50 or so of them on campus here and they hit well above 11Mbps. |

| What I can say, my first gen only see the 2.4 ghz range. That is problematic as all devices on the same band must default to the lowest common compatible setting. So if there is an old phone or device that would be the max speed you will get. |

And any device running wireless N at 2.4Ghz should also get faster speeds than 11Mb/s. Even wireless G has faster speeds than 11Mb/s.
Wireless B is limited to 11Mb/s. |
