Again, unlike the situation in which a private citizen leaves his house unlocked and then it gets robbed, I blame the government here for collecting this information in the first place. They should bear full responsibility for this.
I understand where you are coming from BUT this would be like sharing credit card information to prove it was stolen and not taking any precautions that someone else would do harm with that information. If the information was redacted enough to show that it was real and protected the people involved (the ones whose information was leaked), then I would have no problems with it. However, this was not done and even more damage can be done.
