[F@H] Ver. 7 info

I have been able to run FAH Version 7.1.52 without over heating my Mobo by using an idea of Pin's »Re: 7.1.52 How to start it after a quit .

From 20% through 50% CPU use it would use six and part of the seventh of my four core hyper-threaded CPU. I am running it 70% now and not overheating this computer. It will still use all eight threads once in a while but most often there are blank spaces equal to one and almost two threads.

Now if I could just get the FAHControl to auto-load when I restart or switch users I would be very happy. I do have it set to autostart but it will not and the program gets corrupted forcing me to uninstall and reinstall. Thankfully doing so is easy and fast. I am going to set it to load manually the next time I have reason to restart and see what happens.

For the curious I have a MB Intel DP55WG LG1156 MoBo. When I bought this machine I went way overboard on everything but did not investigate the MoBo the store was using. Next time I will get an opinion from our hardware forum

The computer run at 100% of the CPU for about four months before overheating and shutting down. I took it back while it was in warranty and they blew the computer out with 80 psi and cleaned and repainted the CPU but this did not help. I have another program that is supposed to autostart also, WeatherMate. I wish Win 7 had an startup folder like XP did.

I just checked my Win 7 Pro 64 bit and I do have a startup folder listed with FAH control listed in the folder.

I have win7 home premium and cannot find a startup folder other than three in other program folders. I would love it if you could post a copy of the full trace to it.

If you want to get a little more technical there are multiple startup folders.

For individual users- C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

For all users- C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Both folders are combined when looking at the folder from the start menu.

Thanks, I now have a lower opinion of that search than I used too.
