2 reasons
1.) the mobs in panderia hit like a truck
2.) the essences for these come pretty easily |
|
|
think we'll be able to train our enchanters at 525 of these?
yeah, if spirits of harmony do in fact drop off everything, then it wold be easy to get. |

So it looks like raiders will be going with Dancing Steel for melee and Jade Spirit for casters, with Windsong being an ok (likely cheaper) choice for starting heroic dungeons.
For future melee alts leveling up, Colossus might not be bad depending on proc rate and any internal CD. |

I'm annoyed by the i372 cutoff on these enchants (mainly because of the ebonsteel buckle). Since it is unlikely we will be enchanting the very first quest greens, why not set the enchant at i410? As it stands now, if I upgrade a belt, I lose a gem slot. I know it's a temporary gripe... still... annoyed. |

Any news on MoP enchants for ranged weapons? My hunter says "BAH" to all of these melee enchants. ... Semi-related note: my wife has a hunter she has hardly played since dinging L85 several months ago. She got on WoW last night for the first time in a couple of weeks, looked at her hunter and said, "I need a better bow. Can you make me one?" She's currently sporting the Finely-Tuned Throat Needler (ilvl 333) - not a great weapon, but fine for questing and regular dungeons, which is about all she ever does. I have a 525 engineer who could make her a weapon in the ilvl 346-365 range... but I told her, "just wait a few weeks, you'll probably end up with a quest green that's better than anything I could make you". If MoP quest greens are in the ilvl 370-380 range, then looks like I was right. |

Well I know you can now put Power torrent on a wand, so I'd guess you can put a weapon enchant on a bow now too. |

my wife logged onto her lvl 80 hunter and she plays about as much you say your wife does. she wanted to get everything set up. i pointed her to some hunter sites for basic info (noxxic/ the huntsman's lodge, petopia, etc.) and she began reading.
I even set up several macros for her (no, not castsequence macros...i hate those).
i think she asked me one time if i could set everything up for her to just go out and start questing.
i can't be bothered with that crap. i have my own set of toons to worry about. i told her man up and figure her own shit out. done. |

And what kind of weapon do you put PT on?
its the same class of weapon just different stats, just go and try putting the enchant that hunters used on their melee weapons on the bow and give it a spin. |
|
|
specifically says "when doing melee damage"
ranged with likely still have scopes, albeit buffed up stats. |

Vs spell damage
what harm does it do for you to try?
AFAIK hunters do melee damage with arrows, its just ranged melee.
or did you run up to proc the staff enchant before? |
|
|
Enchant Weapon - MIghty Agility Permanently enchant a two-handed weapon to increase Agility by 130. Requires a level 300 or higher item.
No, you didn't have to run up and melee to proc the 130 agi from that...
As you said in another thread though, it'll make it easier for the bads to be bads....which obivously you're falling into that category with this argument. |

And power Torrent also says "Permanently enchant melee weapon"
Give it a try it might work and be worth it. |

Give it a try it might work and be worth it. Wands are 1h weapons now, not ranged for purposes of character slots and enchants. Hunter bows/xbows/guns will have scopes still I believe. |

Permanently enchants a melee weapon

Permanently enchants a melee weapon to sometimes increase your Strength or Agility by 1,650 when dealing melee damage. Your highest stat is always chosen. Requires a level 372 or higher item. 600 615 615 615
They might have scopes but it also might be worth testing. |

Yup there are scopes, and with similar procs..
The lower end scope gives about 850 crit, the high end scope gives 1650 Agility.
The 2 high end weapon enchant recipes on the list are only buyable at faction vendor and hitting exalted with them, those will be very expensive... |
|

And someone that wanted to test could test with cata enchants. |

theres a reason for it cael, armour and hp are way up once you get to the land of the panderan, take you highest geared toon to highlands and kill something around the twilight fort, very easy right now, now plop that guy down in panderia and make sure you dont aggro more than 2 or you may end up dead, they hit harder and can take a hit as well. |

So are you suggesting 5man questing? |

not at all, after the first 6 quests, you should have your main pieces replaced i e chest legs weapon and then youll be better off, the horde quests are abit tougher than ally because you have more ground to cover on foot, remember no flying til 90, than the allies do. |

I died questing many times on the beta, mobs hit hard, and there are swarms of enemies on most zones, some of them don't hit that hard but some hit like regular mobs, not even a good AoE'r gets alive... |

Sounds like fun. Questing is MUCH more interesting, when you might actually get beat up a bit. ... And, I understand the reason for the inflated stats, since everything else (HP, damage, heals) is going up as well, for both character toons and mobs. Just that I remember seeing some "ask the devs" type stuff from about a year ago, where they were saying that they were concerned about stat inflation, and that they were considering going through some kind of "statistical squashing" when the next expansion came out. Looks like they decided to leave well enough alone. |
