Verizon still doesn't have LTE in our Los Angeles suburb, and their 3G is so overcrowded it's practically worthless. Meanwhile I've had very usable speeds of 5+ mbps on AT&T for over a year.
I'm not partial to either carrier (I have a Verizon iPad and an AT&T iPhone). I do know that there's no way I will move my phone service to Verizon now with these horrible Share Everything plans. If AT&T forces me onto their version of that plan I'll have to figure something else out. -- AT&T U-Hearse - RIP Unlimited Internet 1995-2011 Rethink Billable.

The town 20 miles east of me Waverly, TN. The best at&t offers is EDGE. Not even 3G. Verizon has had 4G since April. Who are you going to go with? Even if all Verizon offered was 3G that's faster than EDGE. At&t just within the last month added 3G here in Camden. Verizon has had it here for almost 5 years now. |

| Here its the opposite.
This area of CA is one of the few areas in all of California that Verizon has no LTE.
Similarly, AT&T has 'faux G' (HSPA+) here and no LTE (no carrier has LTE here currently!)
I did notice that some sites for AT&T were having panels replaced. |

| reply to BF69 If you speak for whole US, thats apples to oranges comparison. In some places its opposite and Att is first ahead of Verizon.
Just look at Dubuque, Iowa. Its a small town but IBM has delivery center there and there are few other important companies there like McGladrey. The county has population of over 60,000 people. Att has 3G there since March 2011, and recently they upgraded it to 3G+. Meanwhile Verizon still has there 3G only. And because I lived there, I know Att doesn't even have corporate stores there (while Verizon does). The only carrier that has 4G LTE there for now is US Cellular. |

And it was in an area that isn't in the middle of no where, like your example and where you hear most EDGE complaints coming from. |
