Nerdcation

I know we all take time off to go take the kids to Disney Land or to go to the beach or to drive out to see the world's largest ball of yarn, but how many people take time off to play video games?

How many of you feel like you got a vacation in when you actually went on vacation... especially if you have kids? Normally, the only time people take off for video games is upon new releases, but everyone poopsock solos their way through the game.

What if the group of us set a time in the distant future (to let everyone accumulate leave) to have people take a week off? All we did was play video games all day.

We could just have a tour of games all week:

Guild Wars 2
World of Warcraft
Starcraft 2
League of Legends
Team Fortress 2
Left 4 Dead 2
Minecraft
etc.

We could play multiplayer games that people most likely already own and just game it up for a week. If we were to set something up for Q1 2013, would anyone be interested? Like everything I organize, it would be a free-flowing event that would be up to the group to decide what they wanted to do and how they wanted to do it.

We could explore new game modes or game options within existing games, or just play games for the hell of it. Who knows.

What are you talking about here? Meeting up somewhere in these games or meeting up in person like a lan thing?

Personally I have done both when taking vacation.

Hrmmmmmm, a whole week dedicated? Co-workers/bosses at work already give me weird looks when I take off for games (Gears of War 3, Mass Effect 2 and 3, Halo: Reach, SC2 to name a few).

What if we did a holiday weekend with two extra days? Start Friday evening/Saturday morning through Monday and then take Tuesday and Wednesday off? Or we could start with a holiday weekend to see how it goes over with everyone?

I'm building a home. There's no way I could house everyone in my current place. After the home is built, there would be no issues. I probably couldn't do anything until summer, but I don't think people want to fly themselves and their rigs out to a stranger's house for a week just on the expense alone.

Strangers? I feel like I know you people better than my own family.

We could play games all day and spoon all night.

You'll have to bring the wife. I mean, we all know her so well, or as well as a dozen internet stalkers could.

We could bring our wives and send them to the spa, then at night, swap time.

Or, we could lock them all in a room and watch as they nag each other until the room exploded.

I think Antonica would be offended if we excluded her from the nerdcation and sent her to a spa.
