I'll join you guys if you play early morning any day of the work week OR late night on Mon/Tue. Other than that count me out. Sad face

You can't accumulate enough vacation to take some time off in January?

If you guys pull this off, I'd be interested in maybe a day or two but definitely not an entire week. And week-ends are family time, so I could possibly do the Friday and Monday if you end up doing a long week-end.

Well, I wanted to field interest to see what people thought. If people could only do a handful of days, it's not like they're committed. We're just looking at playing whatever is available for whoever is available.

I have plenty of vacation available but the Federal Government loves to make it difficult to take leave. We fill out our leave forms at the beginning of the year for the whole year. Even if I did get the time off the wife would be pretty upset that I'd be spending my vacation on video games. Bah humbug

It really depends on what agency/office you work for. Leave policies are generally up to first line or mid level supervisors.

I've had supervisors require all planned leave a year in advance, and I've had supervisors who don't care when I take leave provided I give reasonable notice (a week for a couple of days off, and as much notice as possible for week-long vacations). Our primary consideration where I am is how leave affects mission accomplishment and we try to not all take leave at the same time.

Having been to supervisor school, I try to make every effort to respect employee's requests. It really helps with quality of life to have a supv who understands that work is not the only thing going on in people's lives.

I'm Law Enforcement. It's pretty much the same across the board for all of us. It's not up to our management staff on how leave is ran. It's the same for the entire agency. It goes by seniority as well and I've only been at this job for 3 years. Either way, I wouldn't be taking time off just to game.

Just call in with an "eye" problem as in "I don't see myself coming in to work " this week.
