I guess it's a safe bet that this is the reason that my formerly reliable 12mb service has gone to .027mb. Come on Windstream, how about an update? |
|
|
from what i understand they are in the programming stages of getting the equipment online for GA.. once that is complete we should see these issues resolved.. |

Bashlin, I hope to have additional information by Wednesday or Thursday of next week. Sorry about the slow responses, I have been bouncing around quite a bit. Have a good weekend.

Would this be the same issues (or cause) that is effecting Commerce, GA? |

Bashlin, I have been making as much noise about your circuit as possible. I just got an update on the equipment in your area about an hour ago. The new equipment was in TST_RVW status this past week and has been moved on to the NOC_VLAN group. They will write create the provisioning and the MOP that will plan and allow us to move you and other customers to the new equipment. Ideally it will only be with that group for a week to 10days (providing nothing goes haywire). Shortly after that we will begin the Test and Turn up (TST_TRNUP) and you (and a good chunk of other GA customers) should be moved to the new equipment and be good to go. Just wanted to keep you all in the loop. As I get more updates I will pass it on to you.
To everyone else in this thread: Commerce, Jefferson are at about the same place in the process give or take a week. Have a good weekend.

Aaron Specialist II Is this also related to my problems in Milledgeville / Baldwin County? |

Honestly it should be right around the same time frame, however I have not gotten an update on your specific area yet. I will make every effort to get that by this time tomorrow. I apologize for the slip up.

I'm in the Dawsonsville, GA area, and over the last month or so we have had continuous disconnects. I have monitored the lines and seen the drops/reconnects. Are we being impacted by this same issue? |

I too have been experiencing a lot of disconnects lately. I just find it hard to believe that there's a network issue that's affecting most of Georgia. That said, my connection is total crap tonight.

That's ok. Apparently it's spread to Nebraska too. Windstream's marketing has just oversold their product, and apparently they aren't putting enough money into engineering/operations to beef up their infrastructure to meet those promises. |

I've had a couple of disconnects in the last week. The first time Tech support had me go into the 1704's menu and reset the modem to default specs, the second time(last night @ 9pm) tech support said they were having equipment issues. That lasted about 30 mins then everything went back to normal. |

Aaron Specialist II Is Cornelia in that "Good Chunk of other GA customers"? The frequent drops, random reconnects, and user name and password errors are really getting to be a bit much to deal with. |

So it has been a week since this post, what is the current timeline status? I have a houseful of folks who waited for the recent World of Warcraft release on Tuesday who are getting very upset with all of the disconnects. |

Windstream DSL is still extremely slow in Winder, Ga. every night. Anyone heard of a fix in the future. I have had the techs out several times. It's not just mine. Almost everyone I know that uses Windstream DSL is in the same boat as me. However I do see that Verizon LTE HomeFusion is now available in this area. A little pricey but not that much higher than what I'm paying for DSL and land line.

Ok this connection dropping is getting really old. I have been monitoring my lines and seeing constants drops/reconnects. I have changed my hardware, made sure it is all running latest firmware. And NO, rebooting the DSL modem is NOT the solution.
Today I'm trying to work from home and every 3-4 minutes the connection drops for 15-20 seconds then comes back up.
I am DEFINITELY NOT getting what I am paying for and the amount of time this so-called hardware upgrade is taking is absurd.
What is the status and when the h*** is this going to get FIXED!? |

Wondering if there is anyone from Windstream who can give us the status of getting our issues resolved in Georgia??
We haven't had an update since the usually reliable Aaron touched base two weeks ago.
All we want to know is an honest assessment of the current situation and to understand how soon we'll see our normal service restored. I don't think that's TOO much to ask now, is it? |
