well.. according to the area manager of the colquitt county area (im not sure what other areas he covers), Darryl Barron.. they began transferring customers over to a new DSLAM last week.. unfortunately, it didnt help me any.. according to the tier 2 techs in oklahoma, there are 3 tickets still affecting our area.. a DSLAM, ticket number 10234183 and/or 000008901560.. an aggregator, ticket number 10258425.. and an ATM switch, ticket number 13770368.. the repair dates (according to tier 2 techs) are: DSLAM April 29th.. aggregator February 22nd.. and ATM switch January 31st.. one of these dates has already passed, and of course it isnt fixed yet.. supposedly these broken pieces of equipment are in Fitzgerald.. if anyone else wants to contact Mr Barron about these issues, feel free to call him at 1-229-890-4400 (his office) or 1-229-890-0647.. the number that calls straight to Tier 2, and skips the retards that tell you to reset your modem, is 1-866-542-9701 |

In Florida, I am noticing the biggest slow down weekday nights consistently. Weekends are up in the air. This weekend until tonight, things were pretty fast. But I also noticed things like social networking was also in a lull, which probably means, people aren't online. Out doing something, not even streaming to the TV.
Reason I am on a GA thread is I read most of them. I am looking for patterns that aren't local. Of course it's the same time of night so that is hard to separate, if it's network wide or just because there are many overloaded nodes around their network. |

The guy I talked to tonight said he didn't see a ETR for my area until end of June. Which is a full 3 years after my original ETR from when this problem first started. I have not heard anything from any Tier 2 techs since I asked about them moving my ETR again for the 5-6th time. I called the Mr. Barron (I called his office and it got transferred to his home) I told him I don't see how it takes 3 years to "fix" a utilization/latency issue. He claims that the equipment was in our area but it had nothing to ride on out of our area once it was hooked up.

He called me about a week ago and said I was looking at the end of March if not sooner. Needless to say it is getting worse before it is getting better for me. My connection reset 5 times last night in 30 mins time and the tech said I don't see any disconnects. I said well my IP address does not change itself if it is still connected. She put me on hold and said..Umm yea they are working on it, anything else I can do for you?
I just laughed and said no, right after it disconnected me and only the power and Ethernet lights stayed on for about 10 mins and it would not let me connect again for about 10 more mins. |

Pat and Larissa won't even answer my posts in the direct forum, even though my posts have all been courteous up until tonight - my original thread was started on 1/7 and it took them until 1/31 before I got this non-answer from them. "We apologize, we are working to get updates on this project. And I haven't heard ANYTHING since. If they don't have any concrete answers they could at least reply that they're working on getting an answer from X. Instead, my posts just languish unread. Meanwhile, I'm dealing with this:
I don't think Windstream will ever fix their residential network. They know they can get away with this crap because I'm stuck so they'll just continue to do so. I can't think of a single other business that can get away with this level of network mismanagement and customer service. It's atrocious. |

Wasn't March the last ETA we had gotten? I just had a Windstream Tech stop at my house this morning by mistake, looking for another address to hook up service. Still selling internet... Furious! |

First time I've seen 'normal' speeds since July 2012. Let's see how long it lasts...hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. |

Hopefully you and your immediate area should be good to go. Please post here or feel free to soot me a PM if the issues come back.

Aaron,
Please be a little more specific. Good to go as in they should get 12Mbps at all times now if that is what they are paying for? |

Two consecutive days of normal speeds. Crossing my fingers that it continues during peak hours and on weekends. Film at 11. |

who are you referring to, I was told that yall had no intention to fix my problem this year. This came straight from corporate. I have pretty much given up on Windstream and if there are anymore agency I can complain to, I would be happy to file the report, especially since I can just paste my letter of disgust. |

Please join our FB group called "Georgia Windstream Problems". We might be able to help you some more. The main complaint you need to make right now is to the GA office of Consumer Protection. |

Re: Georgia ETA..??Alright,
I'm new here and everything and I've never even had to post online about my service provider. I recently obtained Windstream and am FAR from impressed so far...I have had service for literally 4 days and am ready to leave already! 3 calls to their tech support and still no resolution. The techs were actually out here yesterday! The didn't fix the problem unfortunately though. I was told it was what they call a "latency" issue. Sequence of events:
1.) Service is setup and speeds are as advertised, woot, good to go!
2.) 3 hours later, service slowly declines, I am now achieving a whopping 0.15Mbps!
3.) Called Tech support, was told to reboot modem, etc etc, basically nothing that is going to help.
4.) Called tech support again, they scheduled for a tech to visit, tech came and asked questions and referred to it as a "latency issue" and that it is being worked on. Tech #1 left and 25 minutes later Tech #2 arrives and asked some questions and leaves, 15 minutes later either tech #1 or #2 calls my phone and asks if the speeds are better, they aren't. So after that I haven't heard nor seen them again, they vanished.
5.) Called tech support again tonight, was told that there is an "active" latency issue in my area and the support rep stated they would "Add a note" to make it more urgent.
Not willing to hold my breath so far! |
