Here it is 4:45PM, clearly not peak times, so what is the excuse now?

Windstream DSL is still extremely slow in Winder, Ga. every night. Anyone heard of a fix in the future. I have had the techs out several times. It's not just mine. Almost everyone I know that uses Windstream DSL is in the same boat as me. However I do see that Verizon LTE HomeFusion is now available in this area. A little pricey but not that much higher than what I'm paying for DSL and land line.

Ok this connection dropping is getting really old. I have been monitoring my lines and seeing constants drops/reconnects. I have changed my hardware, made sure it is all running latest firmware. And NO, rebooting the DSL modem is NOT the solution.

Today I'm trying to work from home and every 3-4 minutes the connection drops for 15-20 seconds then comes back up.

I am DEFINITELY NOT getting what I am paying for and the amount of time this so-called hardware upgrade is taking is absurd.

What is the status and when the h*** is this going to get FIXED!?

9:30PM Nothing like getting 4.7% of the speed you pay for.

Wondering if there is anyone from Windstream who can give us the status of getting our issues resolved in Georgia??

We haven't had an update since the usually reliable Aaron touched base two weeks ago.

All we want to know is an honest assessment of the current situation and to understand how soon we'll see our normal service restored. I don't think that's TOO much to ask now, is it?

Bashlin,
The original resolution date was supposed to be the second quarter of 2013. As you know the resolution estimate has been bumped up dramatically, and we have put a rush on all the work. A new DSLAM has already been installed and we had started moving customers to that equipment. When we began moving the customers a Bug in the equipment and software was revealed that actually made the issue worse. Once we have the bug resolved we will continue moving customers to the new equipment. Regarding the random slow speed issues, we will be installing a new GigE uplink the will eliminate the more random utilization spikes, multiple Agg routers being installed around the state will help as well. I just found out about the bug that slowed everything down. As I get more information I will forward it on to you.

I'm paying for 12MB service and this is the best I've been able to get for over 2 months. I'll be calling the billing dept. and getting credit for every moment that I'm being screwed.

The lack of consistent, open communication about the resolution is the single biggest issue Windstream. We understand that shizzle happens, but your inability to keep us informed on a timely basis is inexcusable.

I think mine has just been updated in gray ga. It's been terrible for the past year. I would be happy if its fixed and they give me a higher speed at no extra cost for a year.

Bashlin,
... Shortly after that we will begin the Test and Turn up (TST_TRNUP) and you (and a good chunk of other GA customers) should be moved to the new equipment and be good to go. Just wanted to keep you all in the loop. As I get more updates I will pass it on to you.

To everyone else in this thread: Commerce, Jefferson are at about the same place in the process give or take a week. Have a good weekend.

Is Cornelia in that "Good Chunk of other GA customers"? The frequent drops, random reconnects, and user name and password errors are really getting to be a bit much to deal with.

bump

though some of my problems got fixed by a tech that was sent out still getting issues sometimes. I was wondering is Cornelia in part of those GA customers that should see improvement. We have had bad net since Oct of last year.

Hey Aaron: FWIW, I just got off of a 1 hr. call with Billing and then was transferred to Tech Support. My call to Billing was so that I could get a billing credit for the last couple of months of sub-standard speed/latency while Windstream was resolving the problems in the Northern GA area. The Billing person (very nice, professional named Haley) had to transfer me to Tech Support to get some verification about when the issues arose, etc. so we could establish a 'start date' for a billing credit.

Talked to another really nice, professional CSR Tech named Silvia, who did extensive research while I waited on the phone (including contacting her supervisor/escalating the issue). She confirmed that there had been extensive communications documented regarding Northern GA problems, but said that the trouble tickets had been closed indicating that the problems were fixed.

Based upon the comments and speed test results that were posted at the end of last week, including my own, I'm not convinced that the problems are totally fixed: at least they had not been as-of last Friday.

Did something happen over the weekend to fix the bug you had noted that was making the problem worse? Are all of the necessary pieces of hardware & software installed, tested, bug-free, and implemented...and ready for customers to be moved there?

The obvious first priority is fixing the problem, but my second priority is establishing a 'start date' so that I can receive a billing credit for months of slow speed. Anything you can do to bring clarity to these issues would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks.

This was suppose to get better right? I mean until it reads 0.00 I am not sure how much worse it could get.
