Re: Georgia ETA..?? I am not overly surprised that you are running into this problem @WindSlow even though you are a new customer. As DawsonvilleG suggested, if your problem persists join the "Georgia Windstream Problems" FB page and continue to monitor your speeds (especially during peak hours). We can give you the tools to file the complaints that need to be filed to get Windstream working harder on fixing the problem they have created. |

 | Thanks for the info. I am very hopeful that the issue will be resolved right now and am willing to wait a few extra days and call a couple of more times before taking it to the next level, which I am certainly willing to do. I only have 2 options in my area and the other option caps me at a 200GB bandwidth limit, so Windstream was the obvious next choice because it was my only choice...
I am in the Douglas,GA area which is supposedly scheduled for upgrades this year, not sure when though.... |
 | If its for home use, go with Mediastream. There are a few of us from Douglas on here, and if we had the option we wouldnt be with these crooks thats for sure. |
 | Stevieaces,
I was recently with Medistream and was consistently going over their "200GB" bandwidth limit and being charged $2.00 per GB and did pay the bill the first time it happened but I can not continue to pay an additional $150.00+/month for overages. That is the reason I chose to move to Windstream (Which apparently was a mistake).
Do any of you folks in Douglas know when the upgrades will be implemented? If any at all? I don't think it's worth calling and asking because Windstream appears to give "False" dead lines that they can not meet :\
Thanks! |
 | reply to Bashlin It's possible Windstream isn't telling the truth on any deadlines.. As I've been waiting for 2 years and it keeps getting pushed back. |
 | reply to Bashlin Well,
Another day, same thing. They finally got a contractor out here and buried my line today and I was hopeful that the new permanent line would increase my speeds/latency but no joy!
I am still achieving a 10th of what my package consists of and am receiving high latency/packet loss when pinging out.
Gracias WindStream! |

 | reply to Bashlin I have some hopefully good news for Douglas. I have been in contact with Aaron and we are good to go here. What we are waiting on is the ATM switch in Fitzgerald to be completed.
Waiting on an update now but 2 weeks ago I was given a etr of 3 to 4 weeks. So hopefully just 1 to 2 more weeks.
It's been 15 months so far so I can wait 1-2 more weeks. Of course the standard if not problems pop up applies. |
 | Has anything been fixed in your area? They keep lieing to me about the ETRs and frankly it's pointless to call them. They are very nice on the phone and promise you this and that, I'd be nice to if I knew I was selling something that wasn't real. It's like dealing with a bunch of deaf and blind gorillas. |
 | reply to Bashlin Mine seems to be repaired |
 | I Curse your fixed internet |
 | reply to Bashlin Well, another etr down the drain. Was suppose to be fixed this week but now I have a new etr of June 28. Me and bashlin are in the same town and it's going to be another 90 days? Now it's another switch.
Going down to the local office tomorrow to see whats going on. |
 | And I've been told not at all in 2013. So apparently IN TOWN is getting fixed but if you live outside of city limits dont expect anything till 2014. Wow. |
 | I am out of the city limits and they just came and fixed mine today, I am on the Westgreen HWY if that helps. |
