Re: [Rant] NFL on Fox and why I will NEVER watch another game

said by wolfy339:

@Caddyroger: I checked the channel lineup on Telus, looks like the have KCPQ as well (listed in their channel lineup as FOX-Seattle).

@footballdude: what do you know, comcrap actually has that channel.

The sound was ok here. It was a little lower but not by much. the volume on the other station varies also.

As bad as Joe is, he's nowhere as bad as Phil Simms.

Mike Martz did the Panther-Bucs game this weekend. I found it interesting to hear him explaining what he saw. Seems like when they bring in a new guy he's always pretty good for a season or two before the producers ruin him and make him just another announcer.

I watched most of the second half of the Seahawks/Cardinals game and the audio sounded fine to me on NFL Sunday Ticket with my DirecTV DVR fed through my A/V Receiver and 7.1 system. The League is LUCKY, Seattle didn’t win. They would have never heard the end of it if the Seahawks won with the replacement officials giving them the extra time out.

I absolutely love the new Fox set! Being more of an AVC guy I always watched the CBS Pregame show, but I think Fox is where my eyes will be from now on every Sunday at noon.

I'll admit the officials blew it on that one. One of the unfortunate realities in sports is that the officials sometimes make an incorrect ruling. However, NFL Sunday Ticket and Fox are two separate channels

The feed of the game is still from Fox. Any technological glitch that originates at Fox or within the broadcast itself would be passed on to all viewers regardless of how they’re watching the game.

I was able to hear the game fine here in Everett, WA on Comcast HD even over my two year old running back and forth "re-enacting" the plays.

Considering the original rant, since other were able to hear it just fine, it was most likely some sort of deviation adjustment turned too low at the Headend of your service provider.
Those were adjustments we had to make all the time when I was in the industry way back in the day, where certain channels audio was much louder or softer than others.

unlikely, considering that there were commercials during the game that were louder than the game itself.

Well, that's pretty much the norm. Commercials are ALWAYS louder...that's just the network, and the way they intend it. (And it always pisses me off).
Regardless of how the deviation was set on the processors, the commercials will usually blast you out of the room...That's one reason the mute button is my very favorite button on my remote.

(Edit) Sorry about all the edits.
At any rate, you saying: "Well, they have lost one viewer, permanently", is pretty silly. It may only happen once in a while, and as I said, it's probably an adjustment that will be corrected in the future. I seriously doubt (at least for me, a complete football lunatic), that it's a good enough reason to never watch a football game on Fox again.
Heck, turn the sound off completely...you don't need the lame announcers anyway. But for God sake, don't miss the football game.

Joe isn't anywhere near as bad as Mike Krukow for the Giants announcer. I can't watch a game without muting the TV.
He's an idiot no doubt.
