Re: Once cars can talk, what will they say about us? Why am I not surprised. It's such a good idea, at least when it comes to making money from a device. -- It is easier for a camel to put on a bikini than an old man to thread a needle. |

But when it gets together with the satnav, they'll be concocting a plan to steer you down a deserted road in the middle of nowhere, knock you on the head with an exploding airbag, eject you out of the door by manipulating the seat-motor controls, then drive off and leave you there. |

(maybe snopes knows?)
Supposedly, your car knows if you've been good or bad - for goodness sake!
Like if you're in an accident, there's a "box", that they can use to determine if you seatbelt was fastened or not.
Sure officer, I had my seatbelt on . But officer knows you're full of it.
Oh, & truckers, & I'm sure others, are, can be monitored; speed, time, location, ...
(Maybe I'll read through at some point ...) |

| reply to therube Lets see. I know that back in the 1970s, truckers working for big lines were monitored at all times. They had a recording device that kept a paper record of all operations, speed, RPM, etc Now I remember, it was a tachograph, and I know about it only because I saw one when I had to get my speedometer repaired a couple of times (trip meter failure affecting the odometer). Anyhow, there's nothing new about the concept, but the technology has come a long way. Truckers have been on the bleeding edge, however. -- It is easier for a camel to put on a bikini than an old man to thread a needle. |

And they'll put chips in people. That way they'll know who is driving what & where & when & how & maybe even, why.
Amber alerts, a thing of the past. Think you've got to chase OJ around LA? Think again. Just throw some juice to the yellowish-orange kill switch & shut him &/or his car down! |
