Re: [NFL] Week 2 Games Discussion

said by Rook008:

Maybe they're just officiating these games like the college games they're used to. I don't know, but I would like the old refs back.

The college refs are busy. The NFL is using high school and pop warner refs.

What do you guys think of what Cutler did? His teammates seem pissed of now.

Jay Cutler yelled at his O-Line. ( I don't see the big deal )

First, former Chicago Bears captain Adewale Ogunleye stepped out and criticized Jay Cutler for his boorish behavior Thursday night in a 23-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
Cutler was sacked seven times, the second-highest total in his career, and threw four interceptions as the Bears were trampled by their NFC North rivals. NFL Network cameras captured Cutler yelling at teammates multiples times and at one point, as offensive players were leaving the field, Cutler bumped left tackle J’Marcus Webb.
Now, cornerback D.J. Moore, who went to Vanderbilt like Cutler, is questioning the quarterback’s actions.
“Is it unfair to criticize Jay right now? Shoot, it's unfair for him to be like that toward J'Marcus," Moore said to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune. "In every game in every sport, there's always somebody who has a tough day. For you to come off on the sideline, once you holler at him it makes it seem like (Webb) is the only reason.

The guy doesn't really get heated up over anything so I would say if hes in your grill maybe you should play better.

I think Cutler is fine, but I do think that if he doesn't have the respect of the team he should not do things like this because he will end up the guy whos packing.

Especially not piss off your line. All a lineman has to do is let a blitz go thru untouched and Cutler will be flat on his back with busted ribs.

I really don't see the big deal. If Cutler is unhappy with his O-Line, he can yell at them all he wants. It may be unwise, and seem childish, and it may lead to bigger problems, but it's his call. He has to deal with the fallout.

But none of it should be done in the media. It's up to the coaches and players to settle their disputes internally.

Bad news for Redskins. 2 defensive stalwarts out for the year.
»sports.yahoo.com/news/redskins-d···nfl.html

The early glow from Robert Griffin III's fast start faded quickly for the Washington Redskins on Monday when defensive starters Brian Orakpo and Adam Carriker were declared out for the season.

Two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Orakpo tore the pectoral muscle near his left shoulder, and defensive end Carriker tore the quad tendon in his right knee in the first quarter of Sunday's 31-28 loss to the St. Louis Rams.

The injuries rob two players from a team that has allowed 63 points and more than 800 yards in its first two games, tempering the early promise by Redskins (1-1) have shown with rookie quarterback Griffin.

I feel the opposite is happening. The refs are reluctant to call PI or holding against the defense, so those defenses are pulling jerseys or interfering with WR's way down field.

Yeah - so that is why they threw a PI flag on Ike Taylor when he didn't even touch the receiver until the ball bounced off of the receiver's hands.

The replacement refs are also dragging games out. A conference after every flag. It seemed that the 4th quarter of the Jets/Steelers game lasted longer than the entire 1st half.

I remember that play. It was very odd. I don't know what they were actually throwing the flag for. And I said so, too: »Re: [NFL] Week 2 Games Discussion

Just threw a TD pass though.
Luckily it's inside of 2 minutes, because the refs called it no catch and they have no challenges left.

At least they're not fans (I hope) of the teams playing, unlike this guy: »espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/83929···l-review
