| Is this on 800Mhz band? I read somewhere that Sprint is building their flavor of LTE on the 800 Mhz band. So when they say they build 100 more sites is this on that 800mhz band? When all said and done with Sprint's 800mhz band LTE will this put them almost on equal coverage as Verizon's 700mhz band LTE? |
|
 | They'll start 800Mhz LTE/voice rollout when retiring Nextel iDen next year. Sprint will have better coverage than today but VZW has more rural sites. |

DestBoloPremium join:2000-03-21 Naperville, IL | All their current LTE phone right now don't support 800mhz LTE... I really doubt the current LTE phone will be able to use 800mhz when that get rolled out |
|
 | Yeah, that does suck but most people who care about those things upgrade phones often anyway. |

Even My old EVO3d supported the 800 Mhz band, plus they did have one other last year as well.

 | All of the phones you've listed support ESMR 800 for CDMA 1xA. |

DestBoloPremium join:2000-03-21 Naperville, IL 1 edit | reply to PittsPgh I clearly stated "800mhz LTE"
LTE using 800mhz, not CDMA 800. different Tech, CDMA for voice, LTE is the new 4G
EVO3D doesn't even support LTE, it uses WiMax (I'm using a Evo 3D)
AFAIK EVOLTE & GS3 support 1900mhz LTE only, and don't support 800mhz LTE |

 | LTE on 800Mhz hasn't been approved yet, expected later this year. But at least new gen phones will get improved voice/3G coverage when Sprint starts 800 rollout. Would think 800 LTE phones will start to appear early next year. |

neftv join:2000-10-01 Broomall, PA | reply to xenophon So if I understand this right why would anyone want to get today's Sprint LTE phone if in the next year they will need to get a new phone. They will have to wait close to their two year contract date or early upgrade? |
|
 | Yeah, newest phones will get 800/1900 voice/3G and 1900 LTE since LTE/800 isn't approved yet. |
