I looked around on the support page and it doesn't look like we can go back either. So much for choices.

I never use the ISP portal page. I like this one best:

file://localhost/D:/Norman/Pictures/0-9,%20A/~gap/Top/top417.jpg

Loads quickly, easy on the eyes. Sorry, the page I got that one from changes weekly. But you can find the latest "Top" page here:

»www4.ocn.ne.jp/~gap/index.html

Click on the image to enter.

You can find any of a number of substitutes. I've always liked:

Or find a site which matches your interests. I set this one for my mother:

Or roll your own.

You can open multiple tabs everytime your computer signs on if you like by doing this.

Go to Control panel
Internet Options
General tab
Home Page.

You can enter something like this:
»att.my.yahoo.com/
»yahoomail.com/
»www.google.com/ig?hl=en

It will open a seperate tab for att, my mail and google.

Hit apply after you enter your sites and then hit ok.

Hope this helps

My link to the ATT/Yahoo! portal page (from my own local web server menu page) is »my.yahoo.com/ and I also still see the old ATT/Yahoo! page. YMMV

FWIW, my own local ISP/Portal/Webmail links page looks like this:

Thanks NetFixer, your link took me back to my new homepage. I can live with the new homepage if the stupid weather app worked right. By default it gives you the weather of the city att thinks your in, which is usually where the DSL server is, which for me is not the same city I live in, meaning with the new homepage I'm doomed to having to change from my "actual" location (a city I'm never in) to my default location, which is my actual location.

I use "my.yahoo.com" (without the http in the url) page to stay on my old original yahoo.
Try it without the http...see what happens for you.
Even when I open a new page and type in the http, only my original yahoo comes up and the http goes away, which is what I want.

No rest for the weary.

Thanks. That works.

I hate the new page. It's good to get back to the old one, though I'm not sure if it will last.

That action is going to be browser specific. My normal browser is SeaMonkey, and with that browser if I don't prefix an http url with "http://" it is automatically inserted (even if I really meant to use the "ftp://" prefix, but forgot it).

Whether your browser automatically inserts it or even displays it in the address field, it is there anyway if you are using a url that needs the http protocol. The "http://", "ftp://", "telnet://" and other prefixes are how the browser knows what protocol to use for the url.

For example, shown below is a screen capture of http://digconsys.com:

And now, here is a screen capture of ftp://digconsys.com:

As you can see, without the proper prefix, the browser would not know which protocol to use (and which actual site to access).

The "att.my.yahoo.com" worked until this morning. In fact, their service rep was unaware of the new chance and help me restore my original home page last Friday. It now loads the new home page and they say there is nothing they can/will do. Yet another way to dislike ATT. It's a bunch of mindless ads, very slow to load and I want my old home page back, too!

At least for the present, you can remove that "att." from the url to get the old page. I have edited my firefox bookmark appropriately.

I don't know how long that will last.

To get back the old home page view, logon to »my.yahoo.com
you should see the old customized home page there. I don't know how long it will stay though because yahoo will be using the new look in the future

This also just changed on my AT&T home page and I found a comment about the website section and I wrote them a pretty long and a little nasty message about what they could do with their new home page and I begged them to go back or at least let all members who want to go back, let them do so. I think if all of us from AT&T would write a comment about the new home page, we might have a chance of slim and none, but I think it is well worth a try. Don't you?

Just open internet explorer, click on Tools, then internet options and remove att from your home page and that should bring back your old home page. It worked great on mine. I hope it works for you.

I hope that you didn't mention in your complaint that you can still access the old ATT/Yahoo! portal site using »my.yahoo.com because that would probably just inform them that they forgot to kill that backdoor entry point.
