Re: GALAXY S 3 Considering I owned a Iphone 3g, a Iphone 4, and a 4s, Apple has done pretty much nothing with the phone while google has added everything, and destroyed the bugs that infected honeycomb and gingerbread with ice cream sandwich. The Galaxy s3 kills the s and s2 and is far better then the 4s ever was.
While the 5 is just the same phone only thinner and longer. |

While the 5 is just the same phone only thinner and longer. Really? There were a lot of changes between 3g and 4. 4 to 4s brought some as well. Better camera, better battery life, faster CPU, more RAM, Flash for camera, etc, etc.
And as an Ex-Android user I'd say Google has a long way to go with the bugs in Android. My Droid X was a painful, horrible experience and I'm glad to be rid of that POS and Android's bugs.
As for the S3 if I wanted a 1980's huge phone, I'd buy MicroTAC. I don't want a huge 5" phone screen in my pants. |

I'm pretty impressed. Most people expected the internal components to stay the same as the 4S, since historically that is how Apple has released things. But not only did they add a totally new processor (Cortex A15 based, like the SGS3) but LTE, a new camera, beam-forming for audio, a pretty impressive image processor, and support for wideband-audio. All with 8 hours of talk on 3G or LTE. |

And in true Android fashion, Motorola put GB on it, it was a buggy mess and has been abandoned.....
You can still run the latest iOS on an iPhone 3GS which was released in 2009. |

| reply to Jon Geb My S3 wasn't nearly as big as an upgrade as I'd hoped it'd be. I'm thinking I might hop trains to the iPhone 5. I loved my 4, I don't see why I wouldn't like the 5.
I was willing to go from my S3 to a 4S, so this is an even better option for me now. |

I'm still waiting for ICS to be released for my Bionic ... Christ, Jelly Bean is now out. |

That's because all ios is is a bunch of icons on a screen that you scroll from left to right. I messed with ios 6 for a bit (I am an ios developer), and beyond apple's version of 3d maps and facebook/twitter integration, it doesn't add much. |

MPScanPremium join:2001-08-24 Boston, MA | reply to Metatron2008 We must have seen a different announcement. They doubled the processor speed, put all the radios on one chip, added in LTE, and accomplished all that with better battery life ... in a package that is thinner and lighter than ever before.
So it doesn't "look" different? So what?
Apple nailed the one handed design and they're doubling down on it with the iPhone 5. Everyone can talk down as much as they want but they've sold 100 million iOS devices and have the largest market cap of any company in the world. They're doing SOMETHING right. -- When judgment day comes, I'm confident I will end up in a place that's quite comfortable, very well deserved, and truly reflects how I strive to live my life. It's amusing certain groups feel the need to tell me their place will be better than mine. |
