Re: iPhone 5 - Quest for a caseNo case for me. The only reason I got one for the iPhone 4 was the antenna issue. |

Am I the only person who likes this style? I carry my iPhone 4 (as with the previous models, too) in a belt holster. My primary one is from Duluth Trading and is made of buffalo leather that matches the belt it rides on. I also have a black leather one for utility use. That said, I still put a thin polycarbonate case on my iPhone to protect it from general dings, etc., as well as to make it less slippery in my hand. The combo of the holster and the thin case is what I prefer and when I someday move to the next generation device, that will also be my preference. Hopefully, the case makers will come up with a holster that accommodates the extra length...they were slow on the uptake to adjust dimensions when the iPhone 4 came out. |

Forgot to mention, the case I had was ballistic. Looks like they are going to make iPhone 5 cases soon. » www.goballisticcase.com/ ··· -5-cases |

Am I the only person who likes this style? Sure seems that way. Personally, I have been using my iPhones naked in a leather slip case I made 5 years ago. Besides the cushioning from keys & coins, an additional benefit is that every time I pull it out of the slip case, it is clean with zero finger prints or smudges. It always looks beautiful like the day it was purchased. My nice soft pocket is my case. My jeans all have iPhone rectangles permanently faded into them now. |

Unfortunately, that's one of the "best" ways folks have found to crack their screens...wayward furniture corners and so forth. Several friends and family members have experienced that! |

I would be pleased as punch if case mate released an updated one for a 5. The one for my 4 is my most favorite case, ever.
No one has a useful sliding belt-clip, yet. Click cases suck, they can get dislodged. Sliding is the way to go... yet NO ONE has one. |

Mike, Case-Mate seems to indicate that their iPhone 5 cases will be available to ship on the 21st. |

None of them are for a belt. Therefore they mean nothing to me.
I don't understand how people can just throw a phone in your pocket and hope for the best. |

I don't understand how people can just throw a phone in your pocket and hope for the best. I do agree with that. While I use a thin case on the phone itself, my iPhone lives in a belt holster whenever I'm awake and not actually holding it in my hand. Pockets are likely the primary reason for cracked screens in my observation...especially pants pockets. And we know how things easily fall out of shirt pockets...like my reading glasses do all too often. |

I have a wallet in one pocket.
I have keys, a swipe ID card in the other.
Out of spots. |

I got my case from HandHeldItems.com yesterday. A day before I got my phone today. First thing I did was remove the plastic covering and put it in the case. » www.handhelditems.com/tw ··· 760.htmlI got it in black. For $7, you can't go wrong. I had a TPU case for my 4 for 2 years, and it held up just fine. Even after a few drops. Of course it's no Otterbox... but it's not $50 either. |

I got it today and it's pretty bad.
It's very hard plastic. I thought I was going to scratch it putting it on or damage it in some way. You need to apply NYPD force to get it off of the hip.
Couple good things - the clip seems strong, it protects the lens pretty good.
I'll keep looking but this is enough to shut me up a bit.
Adding - it retains an absolute putrid smell to it. It's like three tire fires and a hint of lemon |
