well i can see mediacom cares

Now I posted in a post a user was complaining about how the mediacom website says a service is avaliable and its not. I have the same complaint but not allowed to post it. I find it odd..

HI (glimmerman76):
I am asking you to stop posting to other users posts. The Mediacom Customer Support Forum is sponsored by Mediacom is meant for the support of our customers. It is my experience as the senior member of the social media team that when another user posts to someone site it discourages continued participation and servers no useful constructive purpose.

I have removed your post and if you continue to do so it may lead to you being banned from the site.
Thank you for understanding and cooperating,
****

It's not odd.

It's like posting on a Ford Truck forum about Chevy. Needless posts are needless.

How is it like posting on a Ford truck forum about Chevy? Both users have Mediacom, unless I missed something. If two users are having the exact same issue, and it's something that pertains to the website and doesn't involve rolling a truck, I really see no good reason why more than one customer cannot comment in the same thread.

The sheer amount of grammar errors in that message is disturbing too.

Again, maybe I'm completely missing something there. But I've actually posted in other threads there without getting yelled at by anyone in the social media team, and in fact found no stated rule that people were not allowed to do so. I'm assuming that's up to the discretion of the people running the forum there, but as long as the post was a) on topic and b) not disruptive....

Neither of them have mediacom. The forum is for mediacom CUSTOMERS not people who can't get mediacom. Not sure why that is complicated. Post is needless.

The website may not be correct 100% of the time. The only way to know is to either contact cust service or your local office. Also the Mediacom forum is actually fairly friendly.

thats the problem THE WEBSITE SHOULD BE RIGHT 100% of the time its the face of mediacrap as service reps sucks and the techs we have here are all morons.... my point is if your webmaster sucks fire him. The old site worked better.

What struck me as odd was that of all the Mediacom posts I've seen on that forum, I've never seen any with that type of tone or poor grammar. I scan it a few times a week to see if there are issues in my area I should be aware of and things like that. Most of the techs over there seem to hold themselves to the same standard that Chad does over here.

OldCableGuy: If you'd checked Glimmer's profile, you'd see he has Mediacom listed on there. There are probably plenty of current Mediacom customers who aren't able to access certain service tiers depending on geography, but the website is telling them they can. Anonymous addressed that in his post, and it's too bad the website isn't accurate, but I've found that seems to be the case with lots of service providers, both here and elsewhere. I have a friend with Teksavvy and the website was telling him he'd be able to get their highest tier of DSL service. He was excited because he hadn't been able to get above 7mbit in the past. But it turned out nothing had actually changed in his area and it was just the website showing that.

While I'm not sure I'd go so far as to call it false advertising, it's no less irritating. I equate it with going to a big box store's website to see if they carry a particular product and then finding out when I get to the store that either that store doesn't carry it at all or it's only available online even though it wasn't marked that way.
