[Equipment] fee for cable(internet) modem in lexington,ky
anyone know if there is a fee involved for the cable modem in lexington,ky.. I get a single amount on my monthly bill - so i do not know if that amount includes a modem fee or not.
i am contemplating on buying a DOCSIC 3 modem for a 10Mbps package and thought it might be a bit cheaper if I got my own modem...

It won't do you any good to have a new DOCSIS 3 modem unless you are going to upgrade to the 30 Meg or 50 Meg service. All the DOCSIS 3 modem will do on the 10 Meg service is run in backwards compatibility mode for DOCSIS 2. -- -Singular
reply to rsriram22 If there was a fee it would/should be a separate item on your bill, and would/should appear as "Cable Modem Lease" (or something to that effect). I think the cost is something like $5/month for 12 months. After that you've paid for the modem and shouldn't be charged anymore. If you supply your own modem you are not charged anything above and beyond your monthly service fee.
