[Speed] Evening slowdowns in Somerville
I moved to Somerville a week ago and signed up for RCN 25/2 internet service. During the day, it seems ok and I get >20 Mbps down. However, during the evenings, I usually only get 7 Mbps or less and rarely get anything above 10 Mbps. Is this normal? This happens to me every night and I seem to be getting much less speed than I am paying for.

I'm having the same problem. I have the same package, and have been getting around 5 Mbps every weeknight for the last month or so. I really miss Fios from where I was living previously.

I hate to say it, but it is highly likely that it is due to the Wonderful Gift of Netflix steaming.
It has been plaguing cable Internet providers pretty hard core. Remember, cable Internet is shared amongst others on the same node.
