[Cable HSI] I own modem but being charged modem fee.
I am not the person in the house who handles the billing stuff, but today I saw the latest Mediacom bill and noticed we are being charged a $5 "Mediacom Online Modem" fee... and have been for at least a year. The problem is we own our modem. I am being helped in the Mediacom support forum and they will have more info on Monday. I guess I learned my lesson... always check the bill to be sure I'm being charged the right amount. For all I know we may have been paying a modem fee for years. Unfortunately, it appears as if Mediacom's billing records only go back one year, but I'll find out more Monday.

From what I am seeing in your ticket (The one from the forums) we are looking back to when the modem was originally put on your account. If I remember correctly we didn't start charging for modems until May 2011 so it shouldn't have gone on longer than this. Once we get word back on Monday we will get this fixed for you completely.
