We are having the same issue in whitney for the past month. I talked to a technician on friday when he came out to replace my modem He said they ordered parts two weeks ago our server is built for 2000 connections and we have over 7000 my Download speed is often .03 and easily drops on my computer this is getting rediculous any news on when our servers will be in.

We have the same issue in Central MN. I have had to play the Windstream game for over three months now just to get credit for the service that we can't get. We are signed up for 6 and get less than 1. Their solution? Drop our service down to 1 mbps of course (trying to absolve themselves??). Our local Windstream techs have told us that it is a known issue within Windstream since early this spring and that our are has been oversold based on the hardware/infrastructure. It is crap that we are expected to continue to pay our bill and get garbage service in return. Come on Windstream - step up and do the right thing. TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS.

The tech on the boards said it was the Dslam i,m connected too that was having issues , They ordered parts for it and installed and i guess that didn't help i,m still having issues

Called support and the lady i spoke too said there is about 300 customers out here having the same issue , There is only about 500 homes out here and not all are permanent resident , Allot are just weekend homes , So my guess is that 300 is everyone out here with a windstream account

All the Dslam out here are fed by fiber , so i,m not sure what is happening Fiber should have plenty of bandwidth to handle all the dslam out here to the CO in town

That is because everyone in your small town is served from this CO, and probably on the same DSLAM(s), or ATM switch feeding all of them.

Fiber is just the medium. Just because it's capable of high speeds doesn't mean anything, it's like having CAT6a (capable of 10GbE) cable but using a 100mbps router and NIC.

Sure, they might be using fiber, but it doesn't do you any good when they're slow OC3 transceivers.

I,m actually outside of town In a Little gated golf course sub division

The town population is around 2.000 not counting us out here or the surrounding county but i see what you are saying ,

you would think if they spent the money on fiber they would upgrade the dslams and co to go along with it

Been with this company for about 8 years started with valornet before windstream took them over with 1.5x768k dsl for $75 a month , That was the bundle price at the time lol i,m on 6mb service now So we have seen a speed increase and a better price point through the years

Strange thing is i have never had any speed issue with them before , Its been rock solid , Only issue i,v ever had was with latency to my first node , I play FPS games online so everyone knows that ping is life lol If they can keep my ping to first node to 10 or 20ms i,m a happy camper but now its the latency and speeds that are taking a crap at night .

Not sure what happened on there network in the last 6 months to bring all these issues up

I,m getting sick of this shit :/

Almost 50% packet loss and i cant even run a speed test , Its so slow i,m timing out

They are terrible in Minnesota too. My crap modem (e2012) goes amber twice a day, and they want me to buy another for $120. No thanks. There customer support wouldn't even listen to my hardware concerns since there was an outage at that moment. Well everytime i called asking for a replacement there was an outage. Today they finally told me i would have to pay. My connection is dropping every 5mins. They are terrible. Need more Fiber up here!

That log basically tells you the BRAS you're being aggregated to, dalltxlrb00 (Dallas TX Redback 00), is dropping your connection. I presume all of the ~1225 customers on it were kicked off also.. which means they were probably doing some maintenance.

johnnyfine , I know how you feel , I,v already replaced Modem a couple times in the past , I got frustrated and called support again last night , Lady said my ticket is still open but she wanted me to run through a few thing for her , like taking my network out of the loop and plugging just 1 computer and modem up , I told her i wasn't about to go through all that trouble when the issue is on there end , she sounded shocked when i said that lol

She told me to call back Monday and talk to billing , see if i can get pro rated for the past few months
