 | reply to nOv1c3 I live in Sugar Land, TX and also use Windstream as my ISP. I live in the Broadstone New Territory apartments so my only options are Ygnition and Windstream.
I am currently paying for 12MB/s Down and .7MB/s Up and have been having very similar issues to you for the past week nOv1c3. I have called tech support 3 times over the past week and each time have had my issue unresolved.
Every time they send a technician out to my house the internet is doing fine because the technician comes out early in the day. By the evening the internet goes back down to less than 1MB/s and I call them again.
This final call I had with them today I was told that they could try to send a technician again and if the issue was unresolved I could contact the business department and lodge a complaint. End of story.
I immediately contacted Ygnition and was told they now offer 20MB/s Up AND Down. I seriously doubt the lady knew what she was talking about because 20MB/s Up seems absurd but I'm willing to give it a shot for a month because my internet quality directly translates to the quality of my life.
If the issues in my area aren't fixed within the next couple of days then Windstream will be down 1 more customer. Not that I really think they care. |

Hey, look what is new...nothing really getting 15% of what a pay for always seems fair to me. Two weeks off for the holidays and I have been able to play online a total of 2 hours. |

 | reply to nOv1c3 I can't even use speedtest.net
But I now use measurementlab.net/run-ndt
It's far more accurate than speedtest and is gives a unholy payload of information.. |

| reply to nOv1c3 well I had a bad experience with support. Called because of modem reboots all afternoon and got told right off that I should be hapy with 300kbps down. Couldn't even connect. I wasn't nice as that lady really got my dander up. I finally got connected after 4 hours but had packet loss of 286ms at 69.66.3.25. She wouldn't even listen to what i had to say. Worse experience I ever had. Did say that I had 2 open tickets that had not been looked into for over 3 weeks. Wish now they would have been open and upfront when they told me I could get 3 meg down and am lucky to get 1.5 meg. Really about 1 meg on tests.
If i had a way of finding a different provider I would but I have to have a hard wired connection and the only one i can get is Windstream. Of the open tickets are for noise on the lines. Happened after someone from a utilities survey company messed with the wires in the box next to the road. The other thing is i have to go out about every week and put the access box at side of house together as it falls apart so connections are just hanging inside. |
