Yeah that cap is a joke. It can be hit in under 4 hours at full speed.

250,000 megabytes time 8 = 2 million megabits /150 = seconds
222 minutes of net use OR just over 3 hrs
considering i can buy a 4tb a month dedicated 100 megabit for less then you pay a month well i guess they are over charging....and don't forget bibics admission that iptv goes over the same net and they charged 9.99 for essentially a unmetered 25/7 megabit service
so it costs very very little to profit from.

And unfortunately it would also mean routing all Teksavvy traffic through the Rogers equipment that is used to spy on and throttle Rogers customers. Guess what the odds are of those same things happening to Teksavvy customers afterward.

From what's been posted here I believe that even with 28/1 TekSavvy needs about 1Mb/s per user. The oversubscription ratios are quite good. A 100Mb/s+ plan might not be available in unlimited, but there's no reason they couldn't do 300GB and 800GB options.

he brought up a good point. No everyone is maxing their connection at all times. you have balance between light users and heavy users. The end point you need to look for is peak congestion.

they could offer 100meg tiers and 5 are lighter users and 5 are heavy users. the average load would be the same as if they are regular users.

it's true that if there's an uneven ratio of super heavy users that cogs up the network it'll cost more money to maintain with upgrades and links. In the end, TSI will charge everyone more. They can still offer it but it depends on how much and what are people willing to pay.

Once people decide it's too expensive AND TSI starts losing money on the service, that's when TSI cannot offer the service.

Teksavvy wants to delay the switch to Aggregated POI IIRC... I'd rather pay more so they can get the switch done sooner. Doesn't make sense to continue to expand an old technology when the switch to Aggregated POI has to be done sooner or later.

Once Rogers rolls it out officially to their clients and updates their products TPIAs will also likely get the bump as it is Rogers that pushes the upgrades out. My guess so far as been that with so many reports of different areas of Ontario getting upstream bonding that ability to roll out the higher speeds can't be too too far away.

untrue. there's always the economics of running the service. They can always offer the service but at what price that will be profitable and attractive.

the 150/10 isn't for your average home users. You're looking at $122+ per month. Moreover, i believe rogers will have to keep tabs on how much these users download.

With APOI the links could be a lot cheaper to install since everything is centralized.

I am in the same camp - my download speed is fine. Its upload that gets swamped. When you say things will get here before Christmas - what do you mean? I haven't been following this development.

I'm perfectly happy with my 28/1 and the only thing I would like is more upload which by the looks of things will be here before Christmas.
