Wow Stupid Android And Google/Youtube

I "updated" Youtube app in my Android phone BIG mistake. Now I cannot sign in to my 3 year old Youtube account from my smartphone because the bloody thing wont let me, instead it forces me to sign-in with an automatically made Youtube account the app created or wants to create with a Gmail account.

I dont want a bloody new second account, I want to upload a video with my old account... and I thought Android/Google would not get as stupid as Apple. Do not update any apps because it's for the worse.

Working great here...

You can uninstall the update via setting.

Re: Wow Stupid Android And Google/Youtube

Will I still get the annoying messages to "update" if I backtrack?

Just uninstall the update and quit your crying jeez.

How? And will I still get the annoying messages to "update" if I backtrack?

Where do you uninstall the update only?

I remember an remove update in GB app settings, but I haven't seen it in ICS. You can uninstall or disable the app, but not roll back an update. My Acer tab is stock ICS and it isn't there. The phone is running CM9, and that doesn't have remove update either.

Don't accept any update on the phone without going to Play store on a computer and finding all the info. I want to know what is being updated. It usually doesn't show in mobile view.

Only system apps can have updates uninstalled because you can't uninstall the app that's what the button does.

I found the key to success but somebody changed the lock.

Click for full size
Settings > Apps > Downloaded > YouTube >> "Uninstall updates"

Will be right next to force stop.

You should be able to disable notification from that window as well.

EDIT: To target your problem more specifically. Why can't you log into your old account? What type of account is it? No offense but I had an account that was strictly Youtube and I was able to use both for quite some time. I eventually closed the account because of consolidation reasons.

Sorry, but that screen doesn't appear on the stock ICS 4.03 Acer A500.

I don't remember seeing it on the Nexus S after the ICS update. ICS screwed up the Nexus, so I rooted it. It isn't on there now with CM9. The last time I saw that screen - the phone was running Gingerbread.

The phone is GSM unlocked - bought it unlocked.

Maybe it's touchwiz then. I don't have it. The tablet is Acer, Phone is
Google, although mine is made by Samsung. Phone is running Cyanogen Mod 9 4.04.

My friends have uninstall update on their Sprint HTCs. Running GB 2.35

ios does not work well with youtube, so that would be a downgrade.

My youtube app doesn't even auto sign in.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Okay guys now I can sign-in with both my new and old Youtube accounts from my Samsung Galaxy S3. The automatic Youtube account created by creating a Google email account is different than the traditional old YT account.

Don't update automatically. There are forums for android that discuss this stuff. Or read the full update disclosure on a computer if you can't find it on the phone. Some are now complaining about the Beautiful Widgets update which would make me check first.
There are some - Aquamail is one, that does post what the update is and does before you agree to update. All apps should do that.

I don't look at Youtube on the phone. I do it on the computer where I have NoScript installed and I control the login.
