 | Port 80 not stealth Port 80 is open with the arris media gateway that WOW uses. |

 | And your point is? |

 | reply to Gerard1234 isn't port 80 HTTP?
meaning if it was blocked, you wouldn't be able to surf the web? |
|
 | reply to Gerard1234 Meaning it should be stealth unless used by a computer to surf the web. If it is open a port scanner will find it and get access to your computer. This port should not be listening for traffic that is unsolicited. |

| reply to Gerard1234 What makes you suspect the modem? Sure it's possible but unlikely.
I'd be looking for what wants to be a web server. Try pointing a browser at your IP from any other location (from a friend's place or work?) - might get some clues.
This Arris TM602G, f/w 6.1.120 has nothing like that. But it isn't a gateway. Model? |

Gerard1234, Have you logged into the gateways admin interface and looked for an option to hide that port? |
|
 | reply to dfs Can you give me a screen shot of your arris admin settings |
|
 | I've never looked at them other than to disable the wi-fi. I have my own router plugged into the gateway. |

mix join:2002-03-19 Utica, MI | reply to Gerard1234 Is the port just open or is it open and actually serving http? Have you tried to access »youripaddress from outside your network? Some home routers support remote access to the configuration pages, but this usually is not enabled by default. Frankly I would be surprised if Arris supported such a thing on any of their modem/router combo devices, but who knows these days. |

meaning if it was blocked, you wouldn't be able to surf the web? Nah, port 80 is used to serve pages. The client's connection doesn't use port 80. Just open a web page, and then type 'netstat' into a command prompt (if you use a windows based OS). |
