Piscataway, NJ | iOS 6 Release Time Anyone care to speculate what time iOS 6 will be released today? I think in the past it was usually released at around 1 PM Eastern.
What I never understood is why Apple can't do some kind of rolling release by time zone where when it is midnight in your time zone you can download it from the deployment server. I would think this would allow for a lot less stress on the servers and avoid a "Black Friday"-like mad rush to get the OS update. |

It always seems to be 10 AM Pacific, so it hits Eastern at 1 PM. It would make more sense to do a rolling release. |

It has already been downloadable for a few days if you're getting impatient .
However, there really isn't much in it to get excited about unless you have a 4s. All the new features have been left off the earlier models. |

Down load from where some 3rd party site ? As far as the older hardware like iPhone 4 most features are included expect siri, turn by turn navigation the main two not supported. Yeah but where is the pizzazz in that, the showmanship, the tented hands and black turtleneck shirts,… 
Shouldn’t there be a digital equivalent to insanely long lines at the Apple store,….shouldn’t there be,……?
No seriously I get what you’re saying and agree. I would take it a step further and would say that iOS updates could take on a powernap like effect. Just set it to automatically receive updates and wake up in the morning to find it already installed,…..yeah,…..I like that,…. |

The iOS 6 GM was released to the developer community but does not require any special activation since it's the final build. Though at this stage there isn't much time to go. |

Siri enhancements (not that the 4 had it anyway but I did have it on Jailbreak)
Not sure about 3g facetime. I haven't tried that yet.
Turn by turn is in there but just no 3D. I've seen it in action on our 4s. It's cool but it can drain the battery even while charging with a standard USB connection.
The new app store reminds me of Apple TV or Microsoft's new UI style. |
