GeekNJPremium join:2000-09-23 Waldwick, NJ | [iPad] Chrome + Gmail = "No Offline Messages" Been using Chrome on iPad 2 running ios 5.x without issue. I use it to read gmail in the browser.
Last night I updated the iPad to ios 6 and now when launching Chrome and opening my Gmail it just shows "No Offline Messages" where it would normally show my inbox.
Did a iPad restart. Did a Chrome cache delete. Did a Chrome uninstall/reinstall. No difference.
Currently working fine showing gmail within Safari on the same iPad.
Found threads about emoji's maybe causing an issue but I don't see any emails in the inbox with that. I even removed all inbox messages and see the same thing.
When I click on the Folders/Label icon, it shows nothing.

 | reply to Yup I've had the same issue. Webern attempting to view gmail via Chrome I get a "No offline messages" message and can't view any messages. Setting controls are also grayed out. I hope google or apple comes up with a fix soon. |

 | Something tells me that Apple and iOS 6 has blocked Chrome from loading Gmail so we're forced to use Safari. |
|
 | reply to JeffThomas Apple Tech Support was no help. They suggested I use the GMail App or the Apple Mail App. |

GeekNJPremium join:2000-09-23 Waldwick, NJ | This is probably more something Google needs to troubleshoot vs Apple. It's Google's app (Chrome) and Google's web page.
It could have been a coincidence it started right when I updated the OS, but I'm guessing not if others are also experiencing it. -- Tweaked your connection? | Mail Parse | Speed Converter |

 | Same issue here. Definitely a Chrome/iOS 6 issue. |
|
 | reply to GeekNJ Same here. When you are on the page.
In Chrome, If you click settings > report an issue
You can let google know and hopefully they get on to it. With enough people reporting it. |

 | Google is aware of it...

LinklistPremium join:2002-03-03 Longport, NJ kudos:5 | reply to GeekNJ I found a work around for my iPad3. Go in to CHROME browser settings(the 3 horizontal lines on right side of screen next to the URL bar), and click on "Request desktop site". That allows Gmail to work on the Chrome browser app. -- »www.gop.com/2012-republican-platform_home/ »www.gop.com/2012-republican-plat···onalism/ |
