Re: Post your Sprint 3g speeds

If you would like help getting better speeds cbobby I would be glad to help. As millenicom can only provide you support up to a certain extent. I am a computer technician and I know that an internet connection can only be as good as the computer is functioning.

Thanks for you response. But until Sprint upgrades more towers in my area, adding more capacity and backhaul, to service the number of SmartPhone devices they sell into the market, there won't be increase in my speed.

I've had this Millen Sprint service since 2008. When I first got it all I needed was a small flat panel ant pointed out the window at the tower. I was getting 1 to 1.5M down and .40K up.

As more and more smartphones came on the market the speeds and the signal strength deteriorated. I added (from Max Signal) and Amp and an ant that came as a package. This put things back to usable speeds. I was able to watch stuff on Hulu again.

Time went buy and the service got worse again. I bought a splitter and hooked up the Flat Panel to the Omni Ant....as per the specs (again Max Signal) for the Amp. Things got better for about 6 months.

Now you can see from my posts where I am. The signal is strong the speed is not most of the time. On weekends early and late at night I can get 1M and higher download and .80 up.

The problem is not in my set-up. I have spent several hundred dollars "enhancing" it. The problem is that Sprint does not have the infastructure to provide an acceptable level of service for the number of devices they sell into the market.

Plus I believe they are putting all their efforts into rolling out LTE 4G.
Here too (I just read a piece in the NYTimes today) they have been selling LTE Smart Phones in markets where they haven't even set up a LTE service.

I guess any decision made by a business must be right and legit. Even if it means "redlining" a number of potential customers by refusing to sell a service to them.

I'll continue to post speeds. There is another thread for VZ LTE that posts nothing but great speeds. Jack used to have thread for Sprint 3G speeds....and most of them were great too....but then there were more and more slow speeds posted. I'm just keeping up the tradition....though I've not seen anybody posting fast speeds on this thread.
