Re: High latency during peak hours Here's a tracert:
Tracing route to vianet.ca [209.91.128.142] over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms DD-WRT [192.168.2.1] 2 442 ms 531 ms 496 ms sud-lns-2.vianet.ca [69.171.101.1] 3 671 ms 641 ms 709 ms sud-core1-i4-4.vianet.ca [209.91.137.49] 4 703 ms 559 ms 632 ms uhs1.vianet.ca [209.91.128.142]
EDIT: And yes I have tried bypassing the router. The modem is identical to the one that was swapped. |

Has a trouble ticket been put in?
WHen you say "Sometimes between 6-11" what exactly is Sometimes defined as? |

 | By that I mean the latency issue starts around 6'ish and ends around 11'ish. The ISP is Vianet who uses Bell Nexxia lines and I have emailed them again so hopefuly they look into it. If I don't hear back I will phone them again to see what's going on. Originally the speed was really slow (talking 1Mb or so) and that seems to have been fixed with the modem swap but latency remains. |
