They spun it off into an Income trust and it got sold off period during the last bankruptcy .
These jobs will be the lowest of lowest paying in the airline business. |

Air Canada jazz is still the only regional airline flying from Montreal to Boston... Westjet and porter don't do it, and the us ones (if they even do it themselves ) are more expensive. |

So can we taxpayers just get it out of the way, and prepay now whatever multi-billion dollar loss it's going to cost us? Because I trust this company as far as I can throw any one of their many failed ventures. |

Will this not be the 3rd or 4th really expensive "discount" airline they have tried? |

said by andyb:Will this not be the 3rd or 4th really expensive "discount" airline they have tried? The very definition of insanity: trying the same thing, the same way over and over but still expecting to see a different result. To be fair Air Canada has some restrictions placed on it by the government to service unprofitable routes and areas. Since Air Canada is dependent on cyclical bankruptcies and government handouts (the later relates to those restrictions), if these rules were changed so that Air Canada could operate without these regulatory strings it could perhaps succeed to be profitable (Ha!) or utterly fail again (only this time not grabbing yet another bailout). |
