 | [Weather] Today is the last day of Summer So how about it? Anyone planned any final, desperate, symbolic acts to ring out the season of sun and fun and ring in the cold and damp of the coming fall and winter?
I know I have to bring in the lawn furniture and shut the outside water this weekend.
That's about as much excitement as I can handle anyway |

 | reply to lugnut Here in Ottawa I can typically sit outside until the end of the first week in October. The earliest I've had to pack it in was Oct.1 last year and the latest was Oct. 10 a couple years ago. The sun is blocked by some huge trees next door and if the temp falls below 15C then it is too cool to sit outside. This year was the earliest I put the furniture out, March 21, usually it is the first week of April. In Winter I can sit on my veranda all bundled up with a coffee.

Not so much symbolic; just happened to work out that way... Of course the cooler, damper weather isn't going to hurt the end result any! |
