NFL network/red zone is coming to TW !Just heard that the NFL network/ red zone is coming to TWC-NY. An agreement has been reached, and they are shooting to have it up and running this weekend.
This should be good news for ALL TWC cable customers.
About time ! |

As I said in another thread if it was going to happen, it was going to get done now. I wonder if TWC got any programming for TWC Sportsnet or any online exclusives like they probably wanted. We shall see.
At the very least, this will remove the last hurdle to those customers who want TWC Sportsnet but will not switch providers because there is no NFL Network or Red Zone. Directv and Dish are probably feeling more pressure to sign up for TWC Sportsnet now. Directv more so from sports fans because they do not have the Pac-12 Network either. |

The following is the next discussion between TWC and Directv:
Directv: Okay, we let's talk about Sportsnet. We can do a deal if you just take off a few cents from your original asking price.
TWC: That old price? That was the discounted early-bird special that ended on September 20th. Now the amount is only 80 cents more.
Directv: WTH? You want us to pay for your NFL Network or something?
TWC: Of course not. It is just that our cost of business went up, and we have to pass that along. You understand...
Okay. Maybe TWC will not ask for an 80 or even 60 cent increase for Sportsnet. I just would not at all shocked if there was TWC's agreeable price for Sportsnet suddenly went up. |

I still feel comcast will make a play with time warner to offer nfl sunday ticket when the contract is up. I've heard that the major stumbling block isn't the nfl but the networks but comcast owns nbc now so that might give them a little bit of leverage, maybe.
The networks don't want to lose advertising revenue.
The big way to get it fixed is when a game goes to commercial put a banner on tv saying "We are in commercial break be right back." Don't know how feasible that would be or what would trigger the banner. |

Direct TV with its national availability is able to offer it to more customers than a single or even two cable companies can. I am not convinced. Hob |

I am hoping they can get sunday ticket. That's the one thing directv has over cable. Plus if cable can get in-demand to bid on sunday ticket doesn't that include as many businesses as directv. |

I don't get how it will take until thursday to get the channels in the guide in Hawaii? I already have the channels in my guide in North Texas although I have a motorola box running iGuide. I had no guide data until 2:00 am or so this morning. I think that the iGuide data updates around that time and the channel call sign and data started populating then. Although I have seen times where channel data started populating when a channel is first launched. I went to college last night and came home and channels were on here. I left for my college class at 4:30 pm CT and got home around 10pm CT so they added the channels sometime between then. |

I did not realize that. I am glad this new service will be added, but until I can watch any game, no need for me to get it at this point. Maybe some day. I have no complaints with TWC, been great for me, but I would get directv if my HOA allowed, they don't allow any dishes, which is just crazy. I guess I will keep going to the bar for now to watch my team. |
