 | Netflix with Ultra TV I have Ultra TV and want to watch Netflix on the TV. This should be a simple procedure with the Arris wireless. How can I get this to happen? WOW customer service, to their credit, said I should look into using PlayOn. But I still can't figure out how to connect the two.
Thanks for any suggestions.

 | I wonder if Netflix will ever be added to Ultra TV?
That would be an amazing addition! |

dfs @wideopenwest.com | reply to RobH_Cleve Most new Tv's and Blur Ray players have that option, I have never used it on mine though. |

Are you asking how to get Netflix through the media players, or just how to do it over the internet through an app on your TV? Please give a little more detail on exactly what you're trying to accomplish, and I might be able to give a little more insight. -- Dan Della Terza WOW! | I am trying to determine if there is a way to watch Netflix on my TV. The TV is less than a year old but it is not a "smart" TV. Having Ultra TV and wireless connection between the TV and the Arris device which has a modem to connect to the internet can this be done?
Thanks for your response. |

If your TV does not have apps, get a Roku or a BluRay that has apps.
I do agree that if the Arris could have a Netflix app, that would be cool. |

| reply to RobH_Cleve It's possible thru the use of a DNLA server. A free one as opposed to PlayOn is Plex. Take a look at this user's setup in the following link -

The WOW gateway is a MOXI box with a customized UI.. so if you're ever looking for answers you can't find by googling UltraTV/WOW, try looking with the keyword "Moxi" instead, there's a lot more info floating around on the Moxi products. |

 | Thanks for the feedback, good info. |

 | In case no one explained the fundamentals of what they're recommending here - you would run one of a variety of software DLNA media server packages (PlayON, Plex, TVersity etc) on a PC connected to your home network. That PC would need to be on and logged into your Netflix account to work. It would then accept the netflix stream and relay it to your TV or media device - in this case your WOW media player box. While I haven't done this myself, I can almost assure you that you will never get the best quality picture this way. The benefit of this option, however, is most will also share any media on that PC (music, video, pictures).
If you specifically want a better Netflix experience, I recommend a Roku or similar media set top box which can be bough anywhere for $100. |

Streaming Media Using HomeConnect, you may be able to stream content directly from the Internet to your TV. DLNA Media Servers such as PlayOn include access to some streamed video content. Remember when you are using HomeConnect, the content being viewed isn't managed by WOW! Cable and therefore, parental controls will not apply to the media you share from your personal computer. So PlayOn is a DLNA app. --

WOW_DanPremium join:2011-03-24 Naperville, IL kudos:22 | reply to RobH_Cleve At this time, we're not planning on adding this to the devices. If you'd like this support, I can say I have tested PlayOn, and I was able to stream Netflix to my media players without issue. I have not personally tested TVersity, but we do support it as a DLNA server. If it has Netflix support it should work. |
