Re: [CFL] [TV] Guide color changes.... Uhhhh... Houston.....

I think it looks good. It's a bummer that it's not full screen though. What a waste of screen real estate.

Any idea when this will start to roll out to Tampa Bay customers? Seems it everywhere else but here. Don't know if BHN utilizes Customers to Sample changes....after all, we are the ones that use this feature....if they do, great, if they don't....it should be something BHN considers...surely there are a lot of Customers that would be willing to Preview\test...provide feedback before releasing new versions. But maybe that is not possible, that is, no way to load New proposed guide on selected customer Boxes........

Would be nice if was full screen, with the few channels showing I get bored and give up after a few pages.

You can have my upgrade. The old version is easier to read than this new black and grey view. More like a downgrade.

CFL Brighthouse-got the new guide layout a few weeks ago and the dark background/white/blue are nearly unreadable along with more obviously wasted empty spaces.
I searched for guide or "theme" color changes in setup for quite a while before realizing that there was only one-size-fits-all.
The response of my digital box is sluggish now I can count off "one-thousand" after pressing buttons before the unit responds. (haven't restarted it yet, tho')

In these economic times I am not upgrading my TV to higher resolution or change my cabinets to be able to hold a larger one any time soon, so this just pushes me another step closer to searching for an alternative provider that I can see.
(I would only miss central florida news 13) Yes my eyes aren't as sharp, but the difference here is night and day.

I don't hate the new guide, but agree there should be color options for people who would rather have say black text on white or some other colors...can't be that hard to implement.

I have not seen this guide as yet, but reading it only provides 1 color when the previous guide must have had 5 or more color selections......you scratch your head and go, from many to no color selections? Why?

I also would like to see the Guide fill the screen, but, definitely want that preview screen to remain.

When I see the FIOS and Direct TV Guides at friends homes....I wonder why BHN's new guides have not come out better...with more ..... I am in the camp that still felt the original Guide was better....it had better customer user features, one of which was a Manual recording feature which I always used on Sundays when Football pushed all programming late.

FWIW, My wife and I love the new Guide colors & features since we have been updated here in Melbourne FL (32904). I will post a few comments to the "suggestions" thread... nothing major. All in all, it's a nice change.

The only thing I would change is make it a solid color when you press info. It is hard to read unless you happen to be on a black screen. The fix I have now is to hit guide then info.

These new colors are HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Do they really think this makes it easier to read? Are You kidding Me? It is VERY HARD on the eyes! If they wanted better contrast it should be BLACK on WHITE just like a book. Get rid of it! Make it interactive so the user can change the color as best suits them

I've seen some great feedback here but I'm kind of curious about something. All of you who have posted and future posts please reply back or primarily post with your age group from the following categories.

Group 1 - Ages 13 -21
Group 2 - Ages 22 -35
Group 3 - Ages 36 -45
Group 4 - Ages 46 -55
Group 5 - Ages 56 -65
Group 6 - Ages 66 - 100

And lastly...

Are you Male or Female?

Thanks for playing and helping satisfy my curiosity on this.

Group 2, male I like it. Would be interesting to know if using tube TV or flat screen as well, in my case both.

Male Group 4 here.

Don't like it. For me it's hard to read unless I put my glasses on. I didn't have to with the older guide. I think the new bland color theme would be easier to read if they gave the option for full screen view, like the TIVO and Dish guides. That would increase the font size a bit and make it easier to read.

My suggestion is for the BH developers to look at the great guide TIVO and Dish has and mirror something similar. I was actually surprised they released the new guide like this as it doesn't appear they put a lot of thought into it. Disappointing.

Everything else about BH I love. Good customer service, good DVR equipment, great selection of HD channels and high quality dependable internet at a fair price. The programming guide is their weakest link.

I like the new guide. New colors don't bother me at all. I really love that I can view the guide with just my favorite channels showing. Actually accidentally discovered that feature yesterday.

I'm a male in Group 3.
