I wonder what went wrong. Neglectful parents usually have drug or alcohol abuse issues which does not appear to be the case. Physical abuse unfortunately runs in all cultures but the combination of starvation and abuse seems very unusual here. |

Either way, with the sister in protective custody we'll probably never know because the court records on this case will remain sealed for a looooong time. |

i find it bizarre that they were allowed to the funeral, more than likely there would have been a backlash to the canadian courts had they failed to escort these wing nuts to the funeral, at taxpayer's expense.

I was going to say that it's too bad those hundreds of people didn't care more when the child was alive. Then I stopped and decided that maybe they didn't take the kids outside. At an older age maybe a teacher or someone at their own mosque might have noticed. Hopefully it's a case of they completely isolated themselves, and not that other people just didn't think it was their place to intervene. |

Yep, to sentence two. Refer to other thread where Gone and I mention that we never see kids outside and a family could keep their kids 'hidden' well enough until 5 or 6. |
