I'm not impressed. I hope Sprint plans to activate 4G here soon so it's at least as fast as ATT's 3G. I tried uploading the picture directly from the phone. Didn't work. |

From Rockledge, Fl. It is not much better where I live in Titusville either. My iP4 had better speed than the 5. Also the WiFi speed tests are slower on the 5 than on the 4. Hmmmmm... |

Yep, and as far as I know, AT&T is the only carrier that will show 4G when you are on HSPA+. Rogers here shows 3G because that's really what it is. |

These at&t lte speeds kinda suck. For about a year of verizons lte you could get 40+ mbit download, and in some cases 60. |

The other reason why I asked, is that the AT&T stores down here have big banners that say "4G LTE", as almost to say that 4G is LTE. |

Well LTE Advanced is a 4G technology, but 4G is not just LTE Advanced (there's 802.16m and 802.16e). LTE itself is not a 4G technology, but most providers use LTE to mean LTE Advanced. HSPA+ is technically 3G, and my 3GS with Bell still shows "3G" (even though Bell now markets HSPA+ as 4G to fall in line with AT&T (who screwed over the marketing for everybody)). |

Actually it was tmobile that screwed over the marketing. When wimax first came out it and lte were known as 4g. Then tmobile starts calling their hsdpa 4g, and next thing ya know, everybody has 4g. |
|

Well then, I stand corrected. Regardless of who started it in the 'States, the Canadian carriers caught on eventually. |

Sprint LTE in Ellicott City Maryland. I measure mine in kB/s but everyone else is using the default Mbps. Here's the conversion: 2298 kilo BYTES per second = 17.9 mega BITS per second |

I have left my 'billing area' many times.
Verizon has lte for pretty much all of the big cities in GA, and quite a few beyond. 3g everywhere else. At&t has better north ga coverage with 3g, but verizon is pretty much even IN LTE COVERAGE when taking in account the other areas that at&t doesn't cover. And that's at&ts 3g, at&ts lte is even lower in coverage and will probably stay that way.
Go out of the cities and you get edge crap with at&t. And edge crap for at&t is usually 600 ping 100 kbit d/50 u crap. |

As of the moment, Verizon and at&t both have good speeds, but I doubt it will stay that way for At&t.
Look at how at&t handles upgrades versus verizon, look at uverse versus Fios. I would bet anything at&t has cut corners somewhere when building out lte. |
