[CT] Slow Speeds at Night...

Over the past few nights the speeds have dropped off to almost unusable speeds.

When I wake up in the morning all is fine. As an example here is my speed test from this morning...

32.48 Mb/s down 9.16 Mb/s Up and a very nice 19MS Ping time.

But at night it looks like this...

1.37 Mb/s down 8.97 Mb/s up and nice 18 MS Ping Time.

I am a member of SamKnows for the FCC and these issues have been documented by SamKnows...

Anyone else having this issue? Where do I go from here?

I am seeing the exact same issue. During the day speeds are great but at night they are horrible. Ping times remain about the same though.

Do all you guys have D2 modems or something?

Only reason I posted is because it just sounds like congestion. I'm on another ISP but seen same issues too in Westport/Fairfield,CT with people with D2 modems.

Ok, got the info. It was a partial outage, that caused peak-time speed issues between ~midnight sat till early this morning.

It only affected CT but should be resolved and speeds should be back to normal.

Hopefully that's it! Although I have my concerns just based on the fact that its been going on for a few days now... great all day then slow at night.

But guess we will find out tonight!

Thanks for your help!

Well we are down to even SLOWER speeds tonight... so slow that I can't even pull up Speedtest.NET to test it.

My son is mad at me because he could not play on XBOX Live tonight he said he kept "lagging out"

I checked again after midnight and regular speeds were back.

Its kind of frustrating, when it works good COX internet is great... but when you really want to use it and its crawling it is so aggravating.

Well he can easily have someone at cox monitor things, during the evenings to find out what's happening.

Well I hope they are monitoring it now, because we are crawling again.

Last night was better but not by much. My speed tests showed the highest of 6 MB/s down. The upstream however is always above 8 which is great.

There will be another maintenance Sunday night/Monday morning, that should resolve this.

Thanks for the patience.
