<description><![CDATA[Tig posted : I've seen screens damaged by those " wet naps".<br>Best cleaner IMO, microfiber cloth and water.  Then wipe with a dry microfiber cloth.<br>Since we discovered microfiber, we haven't used cleaners (with few exceptions where sanitation is a concern)  You'll have to try it to believe it.]]></description>

Unfortunately they also can soak into the wood making attempts to refinish the piece rather difficult.  She was a dolt to even try it.<br><br>With respect to your other question about alcohol, as other said provided it doesn't contain additives such as oils or scent (check the label) use in diluted with water. A good mix is 30% Isopropanol, 70% water (preferably distilled).  You could go as high as 50/50 mix however it tends to dry a bit too fast which can leave spots.    ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[TheMG posted : 70% isopropyl alcohol (aka "rubbing alcohol") and a clean lint-free cloth is what I've been using for years.<br><br>Vinegar works but I've been told that it can cause yellowing in the long term.<br><br>Remember that the surface of an LCD screen is NOT glass. It's actually a plastic polarizing film which is layered onto the glass. This is why extra caution must be taken when cleaning LCD displays, unlike plasma and CRT which are more forgiving since the surface is actually glass.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[drjim posted : Several years ago I bought my girlfriend (now my wife) a nice 42" Panasonic plasma TV to replace the huge old 32" CRT she had.<br><br>I'd also given her a can of Endust For Electronics, showing her how it got fingerprints and stuff off the *cabinets* of her stereo, computer, and other things.<br><br>WELL...she called me one night in tears, saying she'd just used the Endust on the SCREEN of her new Panasonic TV, and now it was all blurry and smudged.<br><br>Thankfully, some judicious polishing polishing with a microfiber cloth got it all off the screen, but she was pretty flipped out about "ruining" her new TV.<br><small>--<br>One man's Magic is another man's Engineering.</small>]]></description>
