If it weren't the film, it would be something else. People who take down unrelated 3rd-party sites for some "reason" will always find another reason to cause havoc... because it's the havoc they really seek. Their stated 'reason' is just an excuse d'jour.

I know but damn, i'm just angry I can't access the bank account online to pay 2 bills.. I bet it will be back up sooner or later.

I was frustrating my anger a bit and was also giving notice that the site's down. I'm sorry.

Same thing happened to me the other day.

Chase was down so I had to go into the bank, make a withdrawl, go to Bank of America, make a deposit, and then use bill pay at B of A to pay the bill...

You can always do the payments via their Pay by Phone System: 1-800-436-7958

I did that last week when Chase was getting hammered to pay in full my credit cards monthly. The process was rather easy and went through without any issues. No fees either.

I pay all my credit cards (except Chase and one other) via the free 800 phone number and no fee system. I have a corded landline partly so I can do this safely. It is faster than logging in (even when a bank site is having no problems) if all you want to do is pay a credit card bill. It is cumbersome using the phone system to do other things but quick and easy for paying your bill. If I have trouble next month with Chase site I'll pay theirs over the phone like I do my others already. Used to banks could charge if paid over the phone even using their automated system and no live human on their end involved. But by law, now banks have to allow FREE phone payments that are done via the automated system. The first time takes a bit more time but the system remembers what account you used to pay from for future times and it goes fast after that first time.

Banks fail to repel cyber threat
Attacks that have tied up bank websites show U.S. financial institutions' vulnerability to electronic terrorism.

By E. Scott Reckard, Andrew Tangel and Jim Puzzanghera
September 27, 2012

A shadowy but well organized hacker group in the Middle East has disrupted the electronic banking operations of America's largest financial institutions in recent days, underscoring U.S. vulnerability to online terrorism.

A group identifying itself as Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Cyber Fighters attacked the websites of Wells Fargo, U.S. Bancorp and Bank of America. The strikes left customers temporarily unable to access their checking accounts, mortgages and other services.

The banks said account and personal information for their tens of millions of online and mobile customers were not compromised. Still, experts said the size and ferociousness of the attacks highlight the broader threat posed by electronic crime and the susceptibility of financial targets.

Agreed. There is too much talk concerning provocation of this film and radical Muslims acting out against the USA. In reality, it is just their (radical Muslims') latent hate waiting for 'justification' to act which in reality is just an excuse.

You can't come to the truth if you succumb to the hype belched out in a dizzying frenzy by the media. Remember, media outlets love ratings just as much as extremists love attention - not that there is any connection between the two - other than their desire for 'attention'.

But I didn't do anything personal to them. It's like they want the cycle of hatred to continue.

I asked about this a week ago, I wonder what banks are going to be next and is anyone at those banks paying attention. Hello banking security people!... wake up and start taking some precautions.

Chase is a rinky dink business to begin with. They may make things look nice but looks are very deceiving when it comes to Chase. It is no wonder that they are having these problems on top of their other problems.

And the attacks continue. Add one more bank to the heap of banks in the US to have been attacked, PNC Bank.

They're attention whores who use any slight (perceived) provocation to bring their ugly agenda to the front page.

I've commented on extremism before, and I won't expound on it any further.

The "itsoknoproblembro" toolkit is capable of simultaneously attacking components of a website's infrastructure and application layers, flooding the targets with sustained traffic peaking at 70 gigabits per second. In addition, Prolexic found that traffic signatures were unusually complex and therefore difficult to reroute away from the targets.

The vendor, which declined to name the banks whose sites it tracked, said the attackers likely spent months probing the sites for the components most susceptible to a DDoS assault. They also were knowledgeable in the technology used to mitigate such attacks.
