This is how Dethy is played: From KrisT: »Pub Games FAQ »What is a Dethy game? Dethy mafia is a 5 player variant with 4 cops (1 sane cop, 1 insane cop, 1 naïve cop, and 1 paranoid cop) and 1 mafia. This variant focuses more on analysis than socializing; it is really more of a logic problem to be solved, as such it is much harder for the mafia to win this type of game. Dead Men Tell No Tales: Night Kills take precedence. If a player investigates someone who is killed at night, they get no return information. "Informed" comes from: Mafia is given a list of which player is which flavor of cop (sane, insane, paranoid, naive). No Night Kill Night "1". Day 1 is historically only used for "check in" and it is asked that ALL players (not a simple majority) vote night. From Drew: It's a simple game of logic. After the second night, you start narrowing down who might be who. For example.. Player A, B, C, D and E.. Night 1: A gets an "Innocent" result. B gets a "Guilty" result C gets an "Innocent" result D gets a "Guilty" result E is mafia and fakes a result. Night 2: A gets a guilty result. B gets a guilty result. C gets an innocent result D gets dead. E is mafia and fakes a result. Now, let's look at players and which kind of cop they may be. Player A: One Innocent, One Guilty. This means the player is either sane or insane. Player B: Two guilty results. this means the player is either paranoid or insane. Player C: Gets two innocent results. this means the player is either sane or naive. Player D: Not enough information. Remember, the varieties of cops mean different things.. Sane Cop - You are normal cop. Gets innocent results on town and guilty results on mafia. Naive Cop - Always gets an innocent result regardless of who is targeted. Insane Cop - Gets the inverse result of an investigation. If player is town, cop gets guilty. If player is mafia, cop gets innocent. Paranoid Cop - Always gets a guilty result regardless of who is targeted. I remember this kind of puzzle game where you would be told a series of information about people in a story. You would have a chart that you would use to fill in information and eventually solve the puzzle. It was all a matter of deduction.
