Tell ATT goodbye.
I just did and am saving $40/month.

Last full AT&T bill from April, 2011: $103.xx.

For local, long distance and 3008k/512k Internet. Barebones phone.

First full Sonic.net, LLC bill from June, 2011: $47.xx.

For local, long distance, and 5800k/600k Internet. Voicemail and Caller ID included (would be $14 a month from AT&T).

Sonic.net must have an old contract with AT&T keeping the price low.

I don't have "AT&T" resold. Copper is the only thing AT&T about my service.

Per 'TelcoData.us', my landline service service is provided by, "BANDWIDTH.COM CLEC, LLC - CA". A friend with lineshared 'at&t Yahoo! HSI Basic' shows up with "PACIFIC BELL" as the landline service provider.

I do not have a speed tier which matches either 'at&t Yahoo! HSI' (traditional ADSL), or AT&T 'U-verse Internet) ("IPDSLAM" ADSL2+).

P.S. Speed test from my days with 'at&t Yahoo! HSI Pro' (3008/512 tier):

Speed test from just after canceling AT&T service, and signing up with Sonic.net, LLC ("Fusion" service) over the same copper as above:

I have since moved to a new location with a much shorter loop:
