[PvE] Challenge Mode Leader Boards

Click for full size
I'm super excited about this feature. I'm sure eventually the API will allow other great sites (wow-heroes.com, wowprogress.com, etc.) to parse this data, but for now, here is a link to the official Blizzard site: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/challenge/dungeon/gate-of-the-setting-sun/realm/nathrezim/?wowLocale=0

edit: oh look, there are drop down boxes for server and dungeon...

I got the impression that these challenge modes were on the level of Zul'Aman Bear runs... only this is the first content of a new expansion so there is no hope of out-gearing it. I imagine folks are still running heroic dungeons (or sleeping from their 48hr marathons to 90).

maybe, i went and checked my friends eu realm Aegwynn, gates realm record is 52 min, temple of the jade serpent record 23 min, so it appears that the us realms are just catching up or something

That's what it looked like on K'J last night...I saw a few guys with 7 or 8 ilvl 463 pieces...Ret Paladins with 320k health, lol.

From what I understand the challenges will never be "Over Geared" I thought they give you a standard set of gear...so everyone has the same level of gear and you go at it based upon skill not who raids more and has better gear? I could be mistaken but I do believe that's the intent behind these

I think that is correct. Thank you for the reminder.

Its not a standard set of gear. Your existing gear is scaled down to the heroic ilvl (463). It has the same stat distributions, except now instead of +500 crit, it has +463 crit (or whatever).

There's some weirdness with hit and expertise to maintain caps, but for each point of hit you keep, they take a point of crit/haste/mastery/spirit from somewhere else.

As a practical consequence, you just waltz in with your raiding gear. Set bonuses are turned off.

And nothing upscales, so you want all items at a minimum 463 ilvl.

It was a notable change from the beta, where they basically flipped the scaling so that people go do heroics easier without grinding gear or throwing a vendor with everything on it.
