| [AB] Slow streaming and downloads from iTunes I just recently bought an Apple TV (ver3) and upgraded my service to BB100. Streaming anything HD on my tv or downloading the file directly to my computer is really slow. Typically I get about 300 to 500kb/s. At the same time while that is downloading I can run a speed test and get 90mb/s. Watching anything on the Apple TV is painful as it stops to buffer constantly for up to 5 minutes at a time.
I have talked to both Apple support and Shaw support and have not been able to get an answer. Apple even gave me a brand new Apple TV box to try so I know it's not a hardware issue. And the problem happens on both ethernet and wifi.
After spending alot of time surfing for answers I tried changing my DNS servers from the Shaw defaults to the Google servers (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4). My speeds improved to 1 - 2mb/s. But that is still much slower then what I should be getting with BB100? |
