Well hello Mr Fancypants, with your fancy office and free-standing desk and laptop and macbook...

Some of us have to get by with tiny cube-farm desks.

I do have a (non-work) macbook though. Now I have all three operating systems; a Linux server, a Windows desktop, and a Mac laptop :P

You should cut those orange wires behind you....you look too well rested Gabe . Make work projects I say!

Sometimes I miss it....I've fallen out of step and don't know technology anymore...oh well . Good to see the Social media team in action! 2 screens for the price of 1 employee....although the poor employee in the background of TSI Keith's picture has a square monitor while a nice widescreen is right next to them unused...

That is unless that employee likes their standard lcd...

I'd take a 4:3 over a 16:9 any day!

I'm not even a director at my own workplace and I also have my own office as done everyone else along with a personal MacBook Pro Retina, although it's a historical company thing.

Oh and a big lab with a ton of servers.

+1

Absolument !

16x9 screens are the nothing more or less than the fruition of yet another rape of the public's common sense by large corporations dictating to us what to buy, in order to cut their manufacturing costs by misrepresenting the REAL size of the product by selling it based on its diagonal measurement.

Who the HELL needs a wide screen on a computer ???!!! (except possibly a few accountants who use spreadsheets)

Widescreens on a PC are PC (PURE CRAP).

Sorry, but them's the facts.

I disagree. I'd choose 16:9 any day. having to scroll left to right when multitasking is such a waste of time.

And making the font smaller just so it fits in the screen is not worth me squinting to read what's 24" from my face.

Just sayin'

Said by someone who uses multiple monitors anyway....

BTW, I use ALT-TAB for that.

(with nice big fonts, and a 19" 4x3 screen about 30" from my face, set at 1280x1024 res)

exactly, why would I want to fit the window from one screen onto the other... may as well add a 3 screen in the middle so I can put both windows from both sides stretched appropriately

ATL+TAB wouldn't get rid of the scrolling... just the switching from one window to the other.

YOU WILL NOT PASS... I mean, WILL NOT CONVINCE ME
