We had pugged several players. We spent that night learning the first four encounters and getting them down. After the first two bosses, we two-healed the next three.

Perfect, I can't offer 10man specific help but if you have general questions I can try my best to help. I would suspect you guys will kill Elegon on your next night.

Just 1 thing, did you spread all your diseases to the orbs right when they spawned? That can be the difference on those later orbs.

On 10m Elegon we've been aiming to kill 5 waves and let the 6th pass through. Most times we're able to hit that mark, though we've also had weeks where the kill happened with killing 4 waves and the 5th getting through.

Having tanks/healers assist the weaker (or more proc dependant) dps has been a huge help in making sure the waves are downed. It's worked well for us to identify and assign people to help others before the pull.

Yeah, KrisN and I were the tanks and I'm pretty sure he was helping too. Over all it went pretty smooth with 2 of the pugs joining skype and most of us just walking in there and let 'god sort it out'. KrisN watched videos and such, and the one pug got on during the 3rd boss for tips and he helped out alot as well.

Sadly enough KrisN's tanking gear is better than mine, so hopefully can I replace my last few blues with some upgrades since RNG hates me.

unholy blight is awesome... but it has a 1.5min CD. The waves of orbs start coming fairly quickly IIRC, which is why I lean toward roiling blood for that part of the fight.

It's something to consider, but I would really hope that people just knew how to do damage instead. Thanks for the tip.

I found that my orb was dying at less than 50% of its travel time, enough for me to walk over and drop another orb down and my DK was at a 470 ilevel. I don't see any reason why another class couldn't do the same, even the "ramp-up" classes.

Okay... so we (myself and another healer) are simply going to have to work harder to make room for a 6th dps. Players on our server seems to average 10~15k dps lower than med/high pop servers. We've gone through a lot of pugs and it just seems that people are just not challenged often enough (because of how few people see normal raids) to reliably perform above 40k dps single-target. Trying to kill StoneGuard with 3 dps below 40k is an exercise in praying for the perfect sequence of petrifies and the absence of "hey, let's Jasper chain your top ranged dps to the melee guy who keeps standing inside the dog's character model!".

I hear ya Immer. WE have had 11 attempts at the stupid 3rd boss. THe Voodoo boss. I got a text from a guildy to pug it. We one shot the damn thing. It amazed me that it was that easy. I think as a whole my leadership has to stop over anylizing these damn fights. Overthinking just creates more doubt, or unintended mechanics. This raid lockout i want to streamline strats to the max. Let players do some thinking instead of holding peoples hands. A Pug 1 shot versus us having 11 attempts put things into perspective.

our problem from a guild perspective is that in all of the attempts we've run, we've only had 5 players that are there for every attempt. We get caught in a constant cycle of introducing/coaching a new raider every night... sometimes 2 even 3 that are new to the instance. At this point, I'm just hoping to train up enough Nathrezites to eventually create a Puggable community, lol.

edit: much of this was to be expected when we lost 5 in the same week. We keep going in with pugs as we wait to "promote from within" /wink.

What is everyone's ilevel?

474 is probably our average ilevel.

Question in regards to tanking strat: Are others going with one tank always have two dogs and swapping them? Or just taunting over the lowest dog to the one petrifying?
