| reply to Archivis said by Archivis:We went into MSV10 for the first time. We went 4/6. I think we need some heavier DPS to survive Elegon. Congrats man. Remember Elegon is a 2healed fight. Have the tank help on weak orbs. 6 orbs = 1 dps per orb, plus tanks on ones that need the most help and healers on one that need a little help. (If you have a resto shaman, flameshock+lavaburst hits like 90k, which is ~20%? of the orb HP) -- I know you are the only one A little taste of heaven You know I am The only one Your bitter taste of hell |

| Perfect, I can't offer 10man specific help but if you have general questions I can try my best to help. I would suspect you guys will kill Elegon on your next night.
Just 1 thing, did you spread all your diseases to the orbs right when they spawned? That can be the difference on those later orbs. |

 | reply to Immer On 10m Elegon we've been aiming to kill 5 waves and let the 6th pass through. Most times we're able to hit that mark, though we've also had weeks where the kill happened with killing 4 waves and the 5th getting through.
Having tanks/healers assist the weaker (or more proc dependant) dps has been a huge help in making sure the waves are downed. It's worked well for us to identify and assign people to help others before the pull. -- Eumaeus, Balance Druid GM - Lux ex Tenebris - Sargeras | Alliance [6/6] MSV [2/6] HoF |

 | reply to Eumaeus Yeah, KrisN and I were the tanks and I'm pretty sure he was helping too. Over all it went pretty smooth with 2 of the pugs joining skype and most of us just walking in there and let 'god sort it out'. KrisN watched videos and such, and the one pug got on during the 3rd boss for tips and he helped out alot as well.
Sadly enough KrisN's tanking gear is better than mine, so hopefully can I replace my last few blues with some upgrades since RNG hates me. -- »Re: [game] Crazy Game - The Resurrection - Day 2 Corrupt Politician - tmodelt You may privately message the rest of the mafia: ekster, Rook008 & Kristopher. | reply to Archivis said by Archivis:I did not. I'll have to put pestilence back on my bars. for that fight, I highly recommend using Roiling Blood Talent (tier 1) to spread your diseases quickly via Blood Boil. You can keep your diseases on Elegon, and as soon as the orbs spawn hit BB and spread the diseases with a little extra dmg tacked on. Of course that would mean putting BB back on your bars for frost spec. -- Guild leader of Pride and Ego (US:Nathrezim) Good times with Great people in the Best way to spend $15/mo.

Of course that would mean putting BB back on your bars for frost spec. That was one of the many things I liked about frost was that I could remove several buttons I didn't need. I have Unholy Blight and I use that as a second Outbreak to keep applying diseases without consuming a rune. I can apply diseases 3 times without ever using a plague strike. The rotation has it that I use plague strike once out of every four applications.
With Death Runes taking place of blood runes, I just howling blast instead of blood boil. I'll consider it, but we only had 3 attempts on Elegon at the time. -- A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have. -MLK |

ImmerGentlemanPremium join:2010-01-07 Evans, GA kudos:6 | unholy blight is awesome... but it has a 1.5min CD. The waves of orbs start coming fairly quickly IIRC, which is why I lean toward roiling blood for that part of the fight. |

ArchivisYour DaddyPremium join:2001-11-26 Earth kudos:18 | It's something to consider, but I would really hope that people just knew how to do damage instead. Thanks for the tip.
I found that my orb was dying at less than 50% of its travel time, enough for me to walk over and drop another orb down and my DK was at a 470 ilevel. | reply to Immer Okay... so we (myself and another healer) are simply going to have to work harder to make room for a 6th dps. Players on our server seems to average 10~15k dps lower than med/high pop servers. We've gone through a lot of pugs and it just seems that people are just not challenged often enough (because of how few people see normal raids) to reliably perform above 40k dps single-target. Trying to kill StoneGuard with 3 dps below 40k is an exercise in praying for the perfect sequence of petrifies and the absence of "hey, let's Jasper chain your top ranged dps to the melee guy who keeps standing inside the dog's character model!".

1 edit | our problem from a guild perspective is that in all of the attempts we've run, we've only had 5 players that are there for every attempt. We get caught in a constant cycle of introducing/coaching a new raider every night... sometimes 2 even 3 that are new to the instance. At this point, I'm just hoping to train up enough Nathrezites to eventually create a Puggable community, lol.
edit: much of this was to be expected when we lost 5 in the same week. We keep going in with pugs as we wait to "promote from within" /wink. |

 ArchivisYour DaddyPremium join:2001-11-26 Earth kudos:18 | What is everyone's ilevel? |

 | 474 is probably our average ilevel.
Question in regards to tanking strat: Are others going with one tank always have two dogs and swapping them? Or just taunting over the lowest dog to the one petrifying? -- Tiermordius on Nathrezim Server (US) Main Tank for Pride and Ego |
