This is the part that bothered me. said by Article : Brown said he often worked alone, was told when overhead surveillance cameras to prevent theft were not working, and was never asked about suspicious behavior.
How often do surveillance cameras go down? I've worked with them and if they are down four times a year, and even then the fix is normally a reboot, that's a lot. How often are the surveillance cameras going down? |

Gee and I just got back from a trip, traveling with two laptops. Glad I didn't check them. |

Has it gotten to the point that it would be better to just overnight your stuff to the destination (with insurance) and just get on the plane with the clothes you're wearing? Or would that trigger some kind of "random" enhanced screening too? |

Pretty sure that'd get you "special" screening in a small windowless room.
Decades ago, long before the TSA, I was traveling by ferry from Turkey to Greece. For whatever reason a number of Greek customs agents told me, in broken English, to follow them. I was escorted to a small windowless room whereupon four (from memory) large, hairy, pissed-off (the Greeks hate the Turks) guys set about removing everything from my backpack while I watched. They then asked me to remove my shoes. About this time I resigned myself to a thorough inspection if you catch my drift. Instead they got bored, spoke to each other in Greek, waved their hands dismissively and left the room leaving me to reassemble my backpack and leave.
Perhaps they were looking for drugs. Maybe they thought I was a terrorist. I'll never know but some TSA agents make me "pucker up" the same way I did that day. |
