not sure why, at this point, they just can't upgrade the remaining systems at once or at least over a few day period

just do the Samsung's one night then do the SA's

talk about dragging their feet

how many users would waste time calling to begin for with

It was supposed to be done, but got bumped when another area got delayed. I'm guessing within the first full week of January.

Seeing as they were doing 3-4 areas a week for 2-3 weeks, and was originally hoped to be completed in the course of 1 month, it doesn't have to do with manpower or concerns of users being stupid.

I just wish they'd fix the random freezing between 11:30-2am... Having less than 24 hours worth of guide information makes no sense for a "cloud" based guide.

So, I have a question about the new guide. On the Optimum app, when you bring up the guide, it tells you how many minutes have progressed/left in a particular show (something U-Verse has had for at least 2 years). Am I missing where you activate that feature on the set top box or am I correct in that for some reason that feature seems to be missing from the new box guide?

Unfortunately that's not something that shows for Live channels, just On Demand.

They really should get more feature parity between the new guide and the Optimum app. I'm thinking the new guide was scaled back quite a lot for the initial roll out either due to getting bugs resolved or to allow it to work on the older Scientific Atlanta boxes.

usually next day
but who knows with them lately
oh yeah they don't do weekends, Monday or Fridays
so likely Tuesday

It is available on Samsung boxes. It should be available soon on SA boxes too.

They need to do something like remove the leading "The" from the titles. Quick, what's on channel 11? What's the following show on channel 11? And after that?

None of the new years stuff on channel 7. Recorded. On my sa8300 with the new guide. It was listed to record in the guide when when I tried to change it because it was not recording. I selected cancel recording then it said "recording not found". Why am I paying for dvr service!

My mother-in-law has the new guide on her Samsung boxes in New Rochelle... so I got to mess around with it.

Considering we've been waiting for an update to the GUI for so long, I must say I'm upset that this will probably be it for the next decade. (But who knows, now that they updated it, maybe they'll continue to tweak it).

It's better than the current-being-replaced GUI, but I still find it unpolished and rather cheap looking. I assume it's only going to look worse when it's not full screen on my SA boxes. If I ever do get the update.

It just doesn't fit right. I feel it could be better organized/arranged. While I don't even feel the FiOS was perfect, it just seemed to be more solid and professional looking.

Ah well, I guess you can't please everyone.

Fios has it's guide problems. The fios dvr has been freezing up which a fix a just been released. Problem started after the guide update in june. People complain about the colors on the fios guide. Which it looked better with the light blue than the dark.

What I don't companies like bright house in Florida have no problems and have a great guide. Why...because they use a guide vender not make their own. I will post photos.

Thanks, I'm always curious to see things like this. I saw ATT U-Verse. That looked pretty good. Very intuitive. Straight forward with simple to follow guides in a folder like hierarchy format. Also looked very solid, polished, and official.

Is this what they are currently using? That looks pretty good. Reminds me of what TMC (Manhattan) is using but slightly less clunky.
