[BC] Telus internet high latency/lag spikes

Hello, I live in Vancouver and since last summer i have been getting high latency on my telus high speed almost every night, starting at around 8:30pm that usually lasts until 3-4am. Sometimes the lag happens the entire weekend. There are 5 people sharing the internet in this house and usually most of them aren't on. The ping is usually around 60-90ms but now it always spikes at night time, sometimes from 60 to 200-300ms and sometimes it won't even go lower then 150 before it spikes back up. it even happens for the whole weekend. Ive already tried just having myself only connected to the internet and the lag spikes are still there. The people that live downstairs in the house use the same connection and i have suspected that they might be torrenting however i am not sure because they are not connected on our router. The router i am using is a d-link wbr-2310. Here's a tracert to dsl reports.

I hope someone can tell me what the problem is here because this lag makes it impossible for me to do any kind of competitive gaming. Thank you for your help in advance.

Who has the modem in the house / who owns the connection?
Do you have access to the modem?
What kind of modem is it?
Are you wired or wireless to your router?

I have the modem in our living room and yes i have access to it. I dont know the model of this modem but its basically the dsl modem that telus gives you when you order their internet. I am wired to the router. Here is a tracert to dsl reports now that i get 16-30ms with no spikes.

Yeah that's typically what will happen when your link is saturated, although it could also be your DSLAM being overloaded. Why don't you log into your modem and see what clients are active?
